The seller, DM7 is a member here... he's been selling off these same discs for weeks now. He's sold at least 4 copies of the same "silvers" by my count at least. I'm curious how many copies he has... I wasn't going to say anything, but i don't like people putting false information in their auctions.

As for thrill kill, there have never been copies of this game stamped. It's not as if it were canceled anywhere near it's scheduled release date either... that's why the betas are both buggy as hell. As for the two versions, one is a legitimate leaked alpha, while the other was released by the developers out of spite. EA halted the production long before the game went gold.

Isnt there 4 versions floating around out there?

Isnt there 4 versions floating around out there?

I've personally seen 7 different versions floating out on the net, but they're all the same game with different music. The music files were missing from the original leaked version, and when the devs decided to leak the final copy, they didn't want to hurt the musicians, so they took out the music. It's pretty easy to add your own, so a lot of people did. On the other hand, there may be versions i'm not aware of... I don't spend much time digging around in warez ftp's.

I think thus far it has been more than four sets, but most of them were just four of the games. It looks like most, if not all, of his items are from Akklaim's UK studios, so I'd imagine that he probably has a nuimber of additional copies.

Hmm... Turok is NOT a beta live game, and will not boot on a beta live system (especally mine... lol)

Well it is true that I have sold 5 or so of the 4 disc sets near the end of last year.
I've now included the "Turok" disc into the sets after receiving information it was a "BETA LIVE" version from a previous buyer.

If this information is not correct i'm happy to amend the description in the auction.
I have a solid Ebay reputation and don't want or need to make false claims in any of my auctions.

As for exactly how many of these silver discs I have, the answer is a shit load!

It's a video inverter for Nintendo arcade games like Donkey Kong etc - they used video that was inverted compared to what eventually became the standard, so you have to invert their video to make the games look right on standard monitors.

What this does, it plays import games from the Super Famicon, to the Super Nintendo. It does not play them in English, but it allows you to play them, just by putting it in the Super Nintendo, and putting the Import game in the back of it.

http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Game-Saver-Converter-Super-Nintendo-SFC_W0QQitemZ8250760421QQcategoryZ62053QQrdZ1QQcmd ZViewItem

This Game Saver+ for the Super Nintendo is a neat little device. It lets you save any game at any level at any time on the SNES at any point. You can then start playing where you left off at a later time. These are brand new, and in mint condition, BUT do not come boxed! They come in bubble-wrap, with a copy of the instructions. It is exactly the same product shown, just without the box. No batteries are required (unless you unplug your SNES/SFC), as it gets all the power from the SNES. You can also use this device as a convertor to allow you to play Super Famicom games on the Super Nintendo! NOTE: These only work on the larger, older SNES systems, and NOT the newer, smaller ones!

Turns out the one in the first auction I posted just had its sticker removed. Case closed.

Like half of the links in this Digitpress thread seem to be pulled directly from here. I tought it just might be coincidence (rare items are rare items), but I noticed that Haliway's PSX kit auction is there too...with the ebay.fr link, suggesting that either the topic creator there was searching from ebay.fr (unlikely) or it was taken from here.

More publicity for people's auctions is nice, I suppose...

Wait wait! If you don't like if sometimes I check other sites too to see if I missed some auctions, just tell me. I check also other regions of eBay sometimes. If you want, just copy all the posts I do on dp and paste them on this forum. I don't do it just because once for me is enough and I started it on the DP forum, but I am an assembler member too. I find many items, every day. I have a long long list of words, discovered in time, and usually I find more items than the ones written here. Sometimes I've been copied on this forum, but I think it's a good thing: auctions are public, everyone should know what's for sale and should be given the possibility to LEARN new things. Many new items, strange ones and so on. If I search and post on DP, it's not because I am payed or I want to bid but because I want to track these items, I want to show them to everyone. So, if you don't want me to post items that you find and that I DON'T FIND to keep the price low, just tell me and I will not copy the links from here. I am a member here too, and this forum is much different than DP. But if I find something by myself I'll link it. I am not paid for this and for any other kind of "service" made for the community.

Excuse me for my engrish and, please, be free to post what I find here too. I'd be glad if you do soo.

Sorry, I didn't mean to cause a tiff...or a hubbub or something. I suppose I didn't really know how I felt about it when I made that last post...maybe I was in a bit of a bad mood...

Apologies...

Sigh...what a hypocrite I am sometimes...half of the reason I visit other forums is to spread the same sort of information found here...

If that's real, it's news to me. The jewel looks fake, the writing on the top is blurry while the "XBOX" part looks fine. It doesn't say "Special Edition" on the front, and it almost looks as if someone took off the word "Halo". Then again, that white EA Live xbox was news to me too... And what's up with that dvd remote, it doesn't look right either... It could be real. Dunno. I'll dig around.

EDIT: They're real. They're even rarer then the other Gates signed launch boxes... If you buy this one, make sure the case is still sealed. There's one floating around out there that's a case swap. Not to say the case itself isn't cool, but you should check anyway.

I messaged the guy about the xbox and all he could tell me was that he bought it from a pawn shop 2 years ago. Looks like a lot of work to fake it, then again, I have never seen this xbox before either.

I don't know, I guess it could be real, but with the dull and scratched jewel and the fact that it comes with a green s controller and not a duke makes me a little suspicious. Doesn't seem like too much work depending on how much money you could get out of a forgery.

You have got to be kidding me... That's the worst "fake" devkit i've ever seen. "As with all debuggers, you must hit reset with game in tray to boot". What kind of lousey mod chip did they put in there? I've never heard of that before. Even with a solderless mod you just hold the eject button. I hope i don't have to say it here, but don't bid on this... He should have at least wrote "TEST" on the side of it with a blue sharpie or something... put some effort into it next time!

Yeah, the only green NTSC xboxes were the halos, the debugs, and the other launch xbox... I don't see someone converting a debug or a different launch box. My guess is this thing is real.

That's exactly what it is. I sent him a question and he said he was an artist and can't bundle any dev software with it...

He said he has to delete anything related to the game he helped to develop.

I cant bundle that software i have to delete it all. i didnt have a compiler anyways as i'm an artist.

This was listed and removed a while ago..............

From the seller

"i am not sure of the games as they do not seem to boot on the XDK, they appear to be retail discs, which I unfortunately do not have a retail unit. The games on the XDK are a dev version of shrek (with lots of debug options in-game), plus some racing games in early stages of development. Plus a more modern game, which seems complete but has never been released. As the games technically should be deleted from the console before its sold, I should not have really mentioned them."

So may be worth a punt!!!

So does that mean the system on eBay technically belongs to someone here? You should email eBay with a complaint that Mr. Gavroche is selling stolen property and you want it back. ;)

...I don't know if anyone here, or anywhere else, is actually 'owed' a dvt3 Dev Kit from Gavroche?

...If they are then 'yes' it could be worth speaking up, but as far as I can remember its other stuff thats owed such as:

An Alpha Dev Kit
A Debug Kit
A load of NR disc's

As i look at it again, there seems to be masking tape above controller port 3. It looks like it's on the inside... And every time microsoft repairs a devkit in the US, they put that little sticker back over the hole. I'd be surprised if they do things differently in the UK.

That "masking tape" is in fact the front panel yellow cable bundle.

Yes, 2 small circular security stickers have been placed over the screws... but it doesnt change the fact that it has been opened, even if it has been resealed.

I am not sure. The main point on a system disc I though was to boot the saturn if you nned a mod to get this to work why use it in the first place.

It seems there are a lot of this type of stuff going around lately. The xbox 360 kiosk are the same thing.

If anyone buys this, make sure the seller has the scsi cable for it otherwise it's useless. It uses a proprietary scsi cable and no one sells anything like it. Trust me, I tried (do a search in the forums here and you'll see my attempts to get one failed).

It's basically what I paid for it too. Anyhow, the graphics really aren't that bad like you said. They always looked worse in the magazines. It played fairly well, however they needed to enhance the loading times for sure. Funny how EA dropped Visual Concepts for their football games after that one and went with Tiburon (however, I think Visual Concepts did NHL 97 for EA).
