http://cgi.ebay.com/Sharp-Nintendo-Television_W0QQitemZ8242920547QQcategoryZ187QQssPa geNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I was briefly tempted by this, until I realized that I had seen those exact same pictures before, and read a description for it that was almost identical, word for word, at ASSEMbler's old site:

http://assembler.roarvgm.com/Sharp_Nintendo_Television/Sharp_Nintendo_television_2/sharp_nintendo_television_2.html

Add this seller's zero feedback into the mix...

The seller claims that the picture in the auction is the actual item that is forsale... Does Assembler still own this (or whoever originally owned it anyway...)?

I e-mailed the seller , awaiting a response.

"What drugs were you on when you set the price for this? Where can I get some - I need to seriously alter my state of mind to justify spending enough money to buy a house on a signed collectible which would be lucky to fetch $100. Seriously, don't be a dumbass - put it up on auction and set a reserve if you have to and see how high it gets -_-"

eBay should ban bidpay and other services like that. There's talk that ebay in other countries has already banned it. why can't people just use paypal? There's too many scams these days and it's making ebay look bad. I don't bid on auctions that don't take paypal anymore. (although I accidently bid on an auction that only takes MO or bidpay and I have yet to receive the item...been over 2 weeks....perfect example of a scam)

Choosing a safe payment method on eBay is critical when it comes to protecting yourself and your money. You can find out more by taking a look at our Safe Payments Policy: http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/safe-payments-policy.html (http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/safe-payments-policy.html)

Under the new policy, sellers will not be allowed to ask buyers to send cash in the post or ask buyers to send payment through instant cash transfer services (non-bank, point-to-point cash transfers) such as Western Union or Moneygram.

If you want to find out more about trading safely on eBay you can find lots of tips in the Safety Centre (http://pages.ebay.co.uk/safetycentre/). If you would like to know about online safety in general, eBay has teamed up with the Government, banks and other online household names to produce a website and campaign that shows you how to Get Safe Online (http://www.getsafeonline.org/). The eBay.co.uk Team

The unit with the different color trigger buttons are from the first batch made. They were given to developers for testing purposes, but they're identical to the retail model other than the button color.

All were recalled, and subsequently destroyed. A few managed to survive. I don't believe there were more than 100 made, so i'm guessing there's less than 10 left.

That looks just like a plain old PC case with an Xbox jewel sticked on there. I've seen that thing before but can't remember where. Is it supposed to be related to dev hardware or is it for someone with bad taste?

There are two items that make me cringe every time they go up on ebay. DVT-3's and the Live Beta debugs. Every time one of those go up for sale, you know the buyer is going screw around with it until it breaks because they don't really know what they're buying. I particulary like the guy who went to replace the hard drive on his DVT-3 with a 250 gig and threw away the original.

That being said, i need a DVT-3 to round out my collection. So if the price stays low...

This is NOT a DVT3...... Per an email exchange with the seller.....

ok here you go.... I didnt think i'd get any questions on this box! But I guess it's still a wanted item out there :) It's been a great box for myself... I just don't see the point of keeping it around anymore since I already got a xbox 360 :-) I bascially wanted a stock xbox so I could upgrade the harddrive cuz you can't do that on this box unless you modded it which I don't want to do cuz it would be pretty dumb if someone modded a geniune offical development box... You will be getting a couple of CDs with this xbox which would be the 5589 XDK Recovery Disc which will let you reset the xbox to a Stock State or Developement State which will install the stock default kernel rom which all the other stock boxs have but doesn't use all of the RAM that this box actually has which is 128 MB RAM the Developement State / Kernel Rom will use ALL of it I used it mainly for dashboard development but now that there's the xbox 360 no one really is focused on new dashboards for the orginal xbox these days so I'm now getting rid of it so I can snag a either stock box or a Harddrive kit for the 360 :-) the other CD will have Visual Stuido .NET pro 2003 and the XDK Development Kit which will let you write stuff for the xbox like apps and programs etc... I got this xbox off the BST (Buy Sell

Threads) off Xbox -Scene... Had no DVD Card which is the emulator Card that you could plug into your pc or the extra add on hardware like a parrel port or something which wasnt what I really needed anyways just the XDK Launcher and debug side was mainly what I needed... It also had a Black Stock Top which I replaced with a Blue True Devlopment Top which i got off the BST Threads also

:) Now Heres the pictures This is the real item your bidding on... I also upgraded the Drive from a Thompson to a Samsdung, it's a 1.0 Devlopment Box with a 1 MB TSOP Space But I wouldnt recommend trying to do a TSOP Hack on it cuz these are diffrent boxs not really like the stock boxs so they may not react as expected when you try flashing a BIOS onto the TSOP which I know is write enabled already to allow the XDK Recovery Disc Flash it to either Stock or Debug State. Heres the picture of it... The Motherboard.... You can see it has pin headers on it already... and 2 RAM Chips which are 64MB each, and the Case... it's a beau aint it :) Also the bottom of the case as it appears...

This box will run anything. I have applied a Dev Kit Hack which lets it run any kind of .xbe (Xbox Excuteable File) In other words anything you toss on it it will run as long it's made for the xbox, Please let me know if you have any more questions. Thank you for your time! :-)

Seller also provided pictures of a opened XDK shell (august 01 prototype) with a xdk motherboard and a BLUE dev top....

Buyer beware....

Seller also provided pictures of a opened XDK shell (august 01 prototype) with a xdk motherboard and a BLUE dev top....

Ok, let's try to figure out what the hell he's selling...

It came as a black debugger with none of the extra cards (dvd emulator, usb, serial, etc). He swapped the case for a DVT-3 (you can tell by the AWESOME jewel). He's tossing in 5589 and VS.net. He seems to have run the recovery disk, so the motherboard obviously can't be a DVT-3. Yet he claims the hard drive can't be updated, so i'm guessing he just doesn't know what he's talking about.

This guy has 0 feedback and he's selling a franken-dev box. I wouldn't touch it with a 10 ft pole.

Oh, and for future reference, don't ever flash the TSOP on a dev box with a retail bios. EVER.

LtRipley36706

from what I gather, the DVT3 dev top is a picture from somewhere else, and he either is not selling it or does not even have it...

It's great that you've told people (that may not know) about eBay's Turbo lister, and even better that you posted the link for it, but the fact remains that there are nicer ways of telling people about these things.

In return you could be providing a pleasant atmosphere for the forums, the people who you are informing will probably be grateful and thank you, and you'll make more friends and generally enjoy yourself more. But then again this is just my opinion.

As for you, heres some, just to show you that your wrong

You listed 10+ items exactly the same, if i remeber right 60

If im not wrong you listed it as "future promotion item"

promotion would be your fault (in the sence of wrong doing just incase you were wondering)

Those were test auctions. Place holders for different items NOT identical items. The rules allow for test auctions.

Maniac magazine have seen it's better days a long time ago. They just cover GamePro and print those retro-stuff because GamePlan was a major success.
Problem is that most of their writers are far too inexperienced - so their articles are full of errors and even not worth reading.

It's funny to read their Forum. Every time they bring out an issue some hardcore readers bash on their mistakes.

According to the website http://www.retro-soft.co.uk/kit.html :

Playstation 2 Kickstart Disc 1 and Disc 2 (2 disc set) Release date: 3/2001 (contains libraries, documentation and tool chain) The CD says: It's essentially everything you need to get going on PS2.

I received a mail from the seller:

product number - KICK-0001
contents in root;
DISC1; QATool Version 1.1

Version 1.1 of the QATool, extra memory card functions added.
Bootable version will also be available on Kickstart CD, to be released shortly.

DISC2;
-
3rd_Party_Tools_and_Middleware
catalogue
Compilers_Libs_and_T10000admin
Demo_Disc
Documents
Product_Submission_and_TRC
Sample_Code
Tools_and_Utils
-

I have no idea what these are used for, as I've never used them. you may be able to, as there is a t10000 admin folder, but to be completely honest I wouldn't know.

There will be some competition for this one...

All you do is peel off the sticker then scan it and reprint the sticker on to the exact same glossy sticky plastic that the original sticker was printed on. Yes, they do actually sell that stuff and the ink the new Epsons take will print on to it with no problems at all.

They're hard to find on YJ, and are never seem to be on eBay. They will play on any stock JP DC. No idea whether they have ones for your car, there was a thread a while back when Yakumo got his disks, theres probably more info on them there

Oh good. Knowing someone else here is bidding on it will keep me from doing it. Really, I need to set something up so that every time I try to bid on something, it takes me to a webpage with my credit card bill. That would slow me down a LOT.

Just FYI, I've bought from the guy who's selling that before. He's good, but he's not kidding about the high shipping prices. I bought something like that from him and ended up paying more for the shipping than I did for the tiem ($150 shipping, which appears to be legit for something that weight shipping EMS).

Good to know, about EMS shipping yeah I know im gonna get murdered with it but its the only way I ship things from Japan. :)

Thankfully I havent gotten into debt yet, though I may have to sell my GDR spindle to help finance the shipping on this bad boy and his brother!

Odd that Mr. Paintball would be in here trying to sell those exact games (and even claiming that Turok was a beta live game) and then they suddendly show up on eBay with the same claim. :o

No it was not. This is an oft quoted, unsourced rumor that has zero basis in fact.

The seller, DM7 is a member here... he's been selling off these same discs for weeks now. He's sold at least 4 copies of the same "silvers" by my count at least. I'm curious how many copies he has... I wasn't going to say anything, but i don't like people putting false information in their auctions.

As for thrill kill, there have never been copies of this game stamped. It's not as if it were canceled anywhere near it's scheduled release date either... that's why the betas are both buggy as hell. As for the two versions, one is a legitimate leaked alpha, while the other was released by the developers out of spite. EA halted the production long before the game went gold.
