So i have a softmodded xbox and a spare 320gb hdd laying around and wanted to upgrade my xbox's hd. i saw something about anything over 137gigs you have to convert he rest or something like that with unleash x, does that mean i wont get my full 320gb?
also is there a good tut anywhere? and what exactly would i be doing to upgrade it? any soldering? or what?

Google is your friend- there's plenty of tutorials out there.
AFAIK, with proper formatting the system can recognize quite a bit. I've seen mods with 500GB+

great! thanks. Also have another question. i have another xbox i want to softmod but dont have a mem stick or anything for it, can i just pull the HD out of that, unlock it, and put the gamesave on it that way or no?
If you have the key already but if it isn't softmodded I don't see how you know the key.
Make sure the drive you get as a replacement can be locked. If you can't find one a modchip is your friend - or a TSOP flash.

No, otherwise the XBOX won't think the drive belongs to it any more. Your best option is to do a hotswap or modchip as APE mentioned.

Dumping the eeprom that contains the key and open it with live info?

...but you can only do so on a modded Xbox?

Or spend $8 to drop a modchip in there.

not saying its a better way, just that not being modded doesn't mean you cant have your key via other means.
