About 3 or so weeks ago, i was at the Capital Flea market in San Jose, as I always am. I saw a peculiar object, a clear cased original xbox. I never really got into collection xboxes, but hey, maybe it's some neat promo or something right? I kneel down and see DEVELOPMENT KIT blazed on the front in green text, and then i knew it might be special. Asking price? 20 dollars. Ouch, a little steep for a gamble, after all, it could just be a case mod. I paid the 20 and ran though. I never paid much attention to it, just sitting in my game room. but with spring break upon me, i decided to do a bit of research.
Seems they go for a tad more than 20 dollars, according to some niche xbox forum i came upon:
http://forums.xbox-scene.com/lofiver...p/t666765.html (http://forums.xbox-scene.com/lofiversion/index.php/t666765.html)
that's one example i found of a sales thread with an actual price in it. I also found a thread of a guy who found one at a thrift shop for $195, and everyone was commenting how it was a steal.
So, DP, what do you think it is worth? judging form the few threads i've seen, the price is all over the place, but defiantly in the 3 digit range.
Here is my unit:

There is some sort of plastic damage on the bottom right corner, looks like it melted a bit. I also included a picture of the back and it's custom ports.
Assuming the unit comes with nothing but it self, what would you price it at? Any help is appreciated.
some more info i came across, maybe it can be of assistance? http://www.llamma.com/xbox/xbox_developer_kit.htm

I have no idea but if its working perfectly it will be worth considerably more then a normal Xbox at 20 dollars that was one kickass sale ! its worth a minimum 300 to me but thats just a guess ive never seen one for sale in Australia so just guessing it could be anywhere between 250-700 here if it appeared on ebay but i am just guessing really i would hold on too this one for awhile this thing can only rise in price as it is not a normal xbox

I wouldn't know if it works: seems it uses special hook ups. But hey, profit is profit right? I'm probably going to sell it through a forum, not through ebay, hence why i'm trying to land on a definite price. Thanks for the comment :D

$20 bucks is definitely a good bargain. That looks like your average DVT4.

Tryed to put a xbox game in it and powered it on ?? (= if it works you will get alot more then a broken system it seems to have the normal av cable input at the back

Nah, putting a game in it won't do anything unless it's a debug game. Powering it up should be sufficient enough.

DVT4? can you explain? Any idea of a price point? i have no intentions of keeping it, after all.

There not worth as much as of now but I would say 300 to 350 is a fair price.

Hell, 300 is nothing to snuff at. I'd take that in a heartbeat for sure.

And if you have any goodies on the hdd, like debug/unreleased games the price will only go up.

Would the hook ups be the same as a stock xbox? any idea how i would go about checking this?

yep it has the same av cable as the normal Xbox and the same Xbox controller ports and i am fairly sure thats a standard power cable connection for the country you are in so if you can get the parts and check if this thing is working aka powers on etc and check out what Pikkon said you will get quiet a bit of money from that 20 dollars you spend

Cool, I'll be sure to look for a pair of hook ups next time I'm out. I guess I'll just post on a forums for offers until i get a reasonable one, or just resort to eBay with a reserve or something. Thanks! I would appreciate other opinions as well, the more info the better, after all.

I knew I had seen some of those sample movies before, they've previously been found as unused files in Sonic Mega Collection for GameCube: http://tcrf.net/Sonic_Mega_Collection#Unused_Movies
