the mda compact (as they call it here) is really cool. the one on the picture is a demo unit from t-mobile. i can only use it for programming, since it must not get any scratches and stuff, so i dont have day to day hands-on experience with it, but since it has the same features as current pocketpc models, only with a screen 30% smaller, yet having the 240x320 resolution, i really like it. for a mobile phone it feels a bit too heavy for me (it is fine if you are used to carrying pockepc devices, but if you are used to mobiles at <100g, it feels a bit heavy.) ...

i ordered the smaller counterpart, called sda music, which is windows smartphone 2003 based. does not have a touchscreen, but it is still cool for programming stuff, emulators etc.

i guess ill go for a pocketpc based touchscreen phone once they get the weight and height down by 1/3 compared to the mda compact.

Not really. It's more for the "safety" of the CPU. The Athlon XP 3200+ is a hot bitch. With that big fan there the temperature don't pass 49ºC

Oh next to the printer, which is at the top shelf is my JVC X'Eye with the 32x hooked up to it and with Kolibri in the slot. 32x, works with the system. Now I need to make room for my Master System model 2 :-).

Also, my PC has a built in temp sensors, which I have hooked up to my 2 HDDs, and CPU (the temp is what you see, which is an Athlon OCed to 3200XP), and a built in fan controller for the two 120mm fans it has inside. This PC is pretty freaking quite and cool. I just need to get a black DVDRW so that it matches. The DVDROM I have there now is painted black with a sharpee.

All the systems you see on the desk are hooked up to the PC :-).

No, that's the official D-Cable from Nintendo but with the output connection moddified for vga... and with this I can enable the progressive scan mode.

insert_coin
02-28-2005, 05:00 PM
Progressive scan is enabled in Ntsc and Pal consoles, but only the ntsc games are developed in progressive scan. If you have a Pal console and you want to play games in progressive scan mode, while you need the Free Loader to load ntsc games. I don't understand this policy about Pal games :(

I kick ass to Nintendo Europe and I bought the GC Spice just for this, the vga support it's very clean.

But not all ntsc/pal games supports progressive scan. For example:

-Resident Evil ramake
-Resident Evil Zero
-Extreme G 3
-Beyond good and evil
-NBA Street 1 & 2
-Batman Vengeance

It's a big disapoinment that RE and RE ø don't support progressive scan!! :'(

the_steadster
02-28-2005, 05:09 PM
I'd guess the reason is just that very few TV's sold in pal regions support prog scan, so it wouldnt be useful to many people - mind you, if its already supported in game, why remove it?

Also, my GayStation 2, DC (the controllers are somewhere on the floor - you DON'T want to see the floor!), cheap-ass VCR, Generic Anime No. 427 mousemat (my friend got it free in Japan), shiny Sony hi-fi, and some other crap.

And yes, that is the Assembler homepage. Stuff in Internet Explorer 3 looks too modern, so I thought I'll go oldskool all the way and use Lynx :-D

That's what I get for relying on a server run by students! My avatar's probably gone too (unless your browser cached it). Depending on how lazy they are it might not be back up till Monday. Though they have been moving the servers to a new room recently, so that could be something to do with it too. If it is because of that, it'll also prove that they also have no life, just like me! It's Saturday night (it's 9:40pm here), FFS!

You can see that the secon photo is in the same place of the first photo but in the right just of the first photo.

And I took the image the same day that my PS2 Slim was bought.
Your room looks oddly familiar. Did you send in collection pics to tips and tricks, by any chance?

Oi! You stole my idea. I was gonna post a picture of my Archos AV320 displaying a pic of the ASSEMbler site since it's the closest I have to a computer. I had the picture on there and everything...I was just trying to figure out how to take a picture of it since the thing is also my only digital camera.

I'd give him back those points because he still has the infamous Gravis GamePad at the bottom left.

I thought their second album was actually better than the first (which is odd, for me anyway).

"My December" was a good song, in my opinion. I just don't know which album it's from...

It's not. It was originally released on its own after Hybrid Theory, but I thought that some reissues (or even some printings of the album outside the US) had it included. I know this not because I'm a LP fan, but because my mind seems to easily accumulate random music release trivia.

O.K. congrats would have gone out to insert coin on the win. Clearly stylish and well designed.

However he had no picture of the site on his desktop.

Therefore the winner is Zilog Jones (member.php?u=597) for his pics of the page in the archaic interface.
