Hello everyone,
I have my ED64 on its way soon.
i live in PAL land but I have a NTSC JAP N64 console also.
I was wondering would it be possible to add both PAL and NTSC CIC chips to a cart with a switch?
I have seen somewhere when people try to make there N64 console multi region they piggy back the CIC chips with a switch.

Let me know your thoughts on this one.
thanks

it is possible, but for what? ed64 with single cic already can run pal and ntsc games

You'll probably just find yourself rarely having much reason to use the PAL N64. But I don't own that model so...

Yes, but the CIC needs to match the console it is in.

He says he has a PAL machine and a NTSC machine. 1 CIC would not work for both.

I think what Krikzz is saying is that any rom will work with the PAL ED64 so no need to pull out my NTSC console.

Also true - but no one knows your circumstance or reason for having 2.

Maybe 1 upstairs and 1 downstairs - in this case, you wouldnt be able to use it.

Or maybe you had 2 to play all the games and now you dont.

If it was the latter, then yes are all good long as you dont want to use it with both consoles.

i mean that enough to have pal system and ed64 with pal cic for play all games. ntsc system with ntsc cic also can run any game, but pal games will be in grayscale colors on ntsc systems

But NTSC N64 can be modded for RGB output and superior picture quality where PAL has only SVideo
