Ys 4: Mask of the Sun English SNES Everdrive... No text!

Hey everyone. I have a question. As the title says, I'm trying to run the english patched Ys 4, but there's no text in the intro or in-game. Anyone have any ideas on how to get this working properly?

I tested it after this topic , have no problem what so ever.

Tested on two setups : SFC + OS10 / Retro Duo +OS10

Make sure that the rom before patch has no header. Check your rom ,rom size should be exactly 1,572,864 bytes before patch.

There are multiple patches for some games. Make sure you are using the latest or highest or final version of the patch. Some early patches may be incomplete, having only stripped out the Japanese text or only have the game text but not intros or certain menus, etc.

I remember Y's IV specifically because I had a version with no text in the intro. After hunting down the latest final patch and repatching, it had the intro text.

Thanks guys. I'll try that stuff. I am, however, playing a few games with saves, and since the new version of the OS has a new save system, I'll hold off until I'm done with what I'm playing. I'll also find the latest patch and see if that changes anything as well.

I'll let you guys know if I get it working or not. It may take a while though.

elbryan42 , you can mannually load your old save in tool box to use it with new save system without any problem. It will also embeded your old save into the new save .dat
