Just wanted to see what everyone's favorite methods are for removing the labels from their cartridges? (To make cases for Everdrives.) I've got some Goo Gone but just curious how everyone does it.

Peel it off. Then use dish soap, rubbing alcohol, or vegetable oil and scrubbing to get all of the label remains and sticky glue remains off. Works well, doesn't take that long.

Being that I have probably removed more labels than anyone here I would tell you using a heat gun or hair dryer is best way (I use heat gun). Any residue left over can be removed with a little bit of Goo Gone or similar product. Many times I can remove label cleanly without any need of Goo Gone. Make sure you clean the Goo Gone off the shell though or it will dissolve your new label's glue.

P.S. If using a heat gun obviously be careful not to burn yourself and do not get plastic too hot or it may warp or melt.

I can botch for Goo Gone.
Works every time.

One strange thing was I used to see it on every where but recently I can only find it at the arts supply shop, not sure why

Thanks for all the quick replies. Now my Everdrive MD and Everdrive GG might actually get a home!

Hair dryer, then orange based goof off (not the petroleum one).

If it's on cardboard, hair dryer and then while the glue is hot slowly
try to pull it up with a piece of clean paper. Stick, pull, stick pull.

Old stickers that use a water based glue are best left on.

WD40

Spray on videotapes to remove the label so you can re-label it

Hair Dryer worked like a charm. I was also able to get my brother to help me cut the case slot and drill a whole for the button so it looks really good. Now I just need to make a label. Thanks guys.

I use nail polish remover these days, soaked onto some tissue paper. It works extremely well, although I do sometimes get strange looks from others when purchasing it. But I do not care, so long as it works. Women's products can be useful for a man to have to hand.

I peel off whatever I can, then use Goo-gone for the residue. I use a bit of soap to cut the oils down from the Goo-gone, then I just toss it in the dishwasher.

I get the strange look from my gf when I use her nail polish remover, lol.

If anyone else decides to go for nail polish remover, please read the ingredients first. Some of them have aloe vera oil and such, and can leave nasty residue or take the shine off from plastic surfaces.

What I hate more than anything is a price sticker on top of a game sticker!!!! Sticker-on-sticker action sucks!!!!Heatgun method works for this....sometimes.

Here's my method and it works perfectly for me the first thing I do is try to get as much of the label off as possible, next I take and put the front of the cart in a sink full of hot water and let it set for a few minutes, after letting it set for a few minutes I take my thumb and rub what remains of the label off of the cart while it's still in the hot water and once done with that and after drying I have a labeless cart shell.
