I think that you two misunderstand. The follwing was said in the auction:

"The reason why I am saying this is a PlayStation system with Debugging Station case is that the system only recognizes Japanese games ONLY. This system is the Japanese version and only Japanese games will work."

So it looks like it is the real deal after all.

Why would it be locked to japan if its a debug or is it a laser problem do you think?

Correct on the ME2 code, though apparently they still work fine (and that one has been bought already). The AC code is dated through 1/15/2012.

I cant say with 100% certainty that it is real, but Ive seen similar things from other companies so it isn't unheard of. Shoot the developers an email and see if they made that sort of thing?

Yeah quite unsure if i'll be in the running for this one though. I still have yet to receive responses from the seller on my questions that make or break me even bothering with it. Since I am unable to bid on the auction though I don't know what the max bid actually is. I'd imagine this would end around 1500 though.

it is said to be used for the cd-i titles development,
but never got the time to use it!

I am not any kind of expert in CDI players, but I here is some info on the 6xx models taken from the net:

Philips professional and authoring CD-i players

Philips sold various professional CD-i players next to the standard consumer models. Both types of players comply fully to the CD-i standard as defined in the Green Book and were based on the same CPU and audio and video ICs, but the professional players usually offered some extra features. There were professional players with an integrated floppy disk drive, parallel ports to connect a printer or ZIP-drive, SCSI-ports, Ethernet network connections or with up to 5 MB of extra RAM. Some players had a feature that enabled the users to customise the start-up screen of the player shell. Several professional players were especially made for CD-i development studios since they included input ports to connect an emulator to simulate the playback of a CD-i disc from an external hard disk for testing purposes.

I have one. You can dev cdi on it. Has fdd, scsi, etc.

Uses cd caddy that is special to it, so normal caddy wont work.

Not mine, but thought I'd share this. May be of interest to collectors out there:


These came from the London Sega World and were used to provide customer infomation.

The disc contains video's for all the zones at Segaworld, customer infomation and warnings , Sega Saturn advertising etc. Runs for 25mins.

for the last few minutes customer infomation is displayed in many languages and then freezes on the last cutomer sign. May be there is more infomation on the disc but that's where it stops.

At the start it repeats a video about Sega World, first with sound ,then no sound and finally with what sounds like data noise comming from the speaker on my monitor. The Laserdisc player has an RS232 port but I have no idea what this data sound is on the disc, reminds me of modem data or the sound you here when a ZX spectrum game loads.

In the pictures you can see a counter on the screen , this can be toggled off on the player itself.

The Laserdisc player is a commercial version Pioneer LD-V43000 , in excellent working order, very good condition some marks. Includes power cable. There is no remote, this player would not have had one.

The Laserdisc disc is a blue label Pioneer disc marked 08-984 Quest at Sega World. It has lots of marks / scratches , plays fine with Excellent quality picture and sound.

A one off chance to own a laserdisc player and Commercial disc from Sega World London.

Monitor not included , it did not come from Sega World.

The player is very heavy, will ship by courier £20 or buyer can collect

Why would you do that?

1. Because you don't have any or 2 because the pictures show that this prototype is the released (read dumped) version of frogger and is not worth your price tag.

Also the picture of the tape on the back does not look great .That was put on there in a later stadium.

So..1 this is not real or 2 you made a very/VERY poor sale.
With all those gang writters out there and the dev carts this does look fishy.PLEASE proof me wrong by posting some pictures and ill eat my words.

4- Why is the price a problem ? I have the best ofter option, so who tells you i wouldn't accept a much lower value? Also, i'm paying for this service (ebay), so i believe that if i want to ask 1.000 i can, i'm not forcing you to buy it.

5- At the moment i cant make a video on it, but i can take 500 pictures of it if you want. I have 5 N64 protos, and 4 are PAL and this one is NTSC. When i recieved it i had a Japanese N64 and tested it, it played and was ok. I've sold it because it was the smoke one, associated with the 64DD, and sold the whole pack, now i only have some PAL N64, so cant show the gameplay, but there are 2 roms available for this game, one very limited and early testing, and one more complete. This is the first one.

1.This is just a comment of a poor seller. Don't leave questions unanswered. Or take action if 50 people ask for pictures it might be handy to add pictures or add in the auction that you are not going to give extra pictures.

Sophia Saturn for sale. Allegedly free shipping from Japan via UPS Worldwide Express, which would probably cost the start price!

This one has been relisted at least 4 times, each time it had winning bids (went to $700 once).

The seller claims not to have tested it, but you can clearly see it is on in one picture. It wouldn't take much to hook a Saturn AV cable from it to a TV. Seems fishy. Oh, and it has no SH2 processors so it'll either need two (special ones for the Sophia) or two ICE units! In other words - it won't work and the seller knows this.

I'm pretty sure its just a yaroze. If it was a "genuine" debuggingstation, it would have a debuggingstation model number like DTL-H1X0X. Do remember that this is Ebay discussion, not ebay sales listing, so we are allowed to comment on Ebay sales, as there is a mixture of user and non user sales posted here. I never said that they were ultra cheap common games, but calling the games rare is a little bit too much like Ebay speak. Rare should mean very hard to find and most of the games listed can be found without too much hassle. To be fair most of those games you can pick up for around 200 to 1000 yen in Japan without too much trouble, I sold a copy of Rez a while back for $6 and even then I struggle to sell it... The red PS2 slim is very uncommon granted and the person who won the auction did get a reasonable deal.

If the ebay listing had said "Rare red PS2 with excellent retro games" then that would have be a more honest statement.

Don't if you guys know of the site, but I often use shopusa.com, they make all the hassle go away with purchasing from the US to at least Europe, don't know if the ship elsewhere.
But they pay the tax and everything in advance, and on many items it's still profitable. Orderer a set of wheels for a mustang, and ended saving something like 40%:O

Does anyone know from what kind of release is this Streets of Rage II? It looks like a regular EUR PAL release, but doesn't have the black frame at the bottom of the cover, and the SOR logo is at the top of the cover as well.
