I remember seeing them back in the late 80s in the UK (where Grandstand were based), this came out at a similar time as the Gameboy, not sure if it really counts as a cartridge based system as the game and screen is on the cartridge and the control system is just power, controls and a fairly pathetic bulb system. The games were the horrible late 80s LCD games that were cheap and nasty and most serious game collectors avoid. As you could tell from the pictures the output is rubbish and the games dull.

nope dosnt violate anything bc back in i think 1995 or 1996 alot of the patents ran out for the nes snes and genesis/megadrive
all three of those systems are all systems on a chip on 3 separate bored inside the retron3

Well I only found out it was rare thanks to these forums. (Specifically DarthCloud's Zelda collection) so it seemed right to put up the details of it so it has a chance to go to someone who collects that sort of stuff. Couldn't be bothered with the game myself, bought it as there was nothing else at the Wii launch.

yes but this all seems a bit old, i have had these games for 7 years, the doom version is an original press on a black cd that i got from a show, the other is just a bootleg that i got from a shop around the same time.

i think he is doing a great job with the covers to turn a profit and i am sure half the ebay sellers are assembler members lol...

I do believe some of these games now are freeware, so i guess you have to ask yourself is it worth paying the extra for a professional cover and case.

I wasn't actually intending to spend that much money, I have a printer and some empty CD-cases which will suffice for now, there are more pressing items to be acquired for my collection.
I was just asking if anyone knew whether the seller was indeed the owner of the flickr account or just masquerading as that individual in order to make a quick buck.

Well I think the custom cover/manual job is certainly good enough to sell but the price is a bit wayy too high and he should have been clearer about the nature of the item. But as long as he's genuinely the guy who made the covers, I don't really see a problem with him selling it as long as it's clear that the fact that the game happens to be on the disc is only a bonus and the cost of the item is just for the snazzy professional looking artwork.

No. PAL copies are that ludicrously rare. Though T-Mek and Primal Rage AFAIK contain region free world roms, to the byte identical to US ones.

I have seen similar protytpes sell on ebay for 1700-2500 each. there are two prototypes in this auction. the price is reasonable maybe a little high by 1k but there are hardcore collectors that would love them!

Know nothing of any Maziora auction, had a STARS, with the high bidder being a scammer apparently, so ended up selling it to one of the members on this board (kaori30) for XXXX€.

Regarding the dvd drive, I've done what I can both to describe it, and to try and validate it, as I contacted a Microsoft employee who I know for sure has an authentic drive. But not even he determine it for me, as no one ever took notes of the serial numbers of the devices being handed out.

And even though I could've mentioned this on the auction, I didn't think it would contribute anything significant to the auction.

But I think given the current exchange rate, $2800 isn't that much of an unrealistic price. And the condition is really good, even comes with the outer Maziora-box. $2800 translates to 218'000yen and I doubt that shops would sell one in similar condition for notably less.

Not cutting and pasting the listing as they both seem to have the same piece of plastic torn off. :p Also just because something is covered in plastic and looks new does not mean it is new as most shops cover things in plastic even for second hand stuff.

Yeah, I'm aware of how stores wrap items. However, these two controllers still have the original plastic underneath with the original price tags as well still on them. The store I went to had a UPC paper under the plastic that store wrapped it in (in the same spot). He used a knife to cut the plastic (yikes!) to grab the UPC and snagged the original plastic for both controllers in the process.

In some of the stores I buy games from, I just ask them to not to cut the plastic and 99% of the time they won't.

Still I am keeping an eye on your sale as $120 does seem like quite a high mark up, might make more then the price I was going to offer the NOS one I have for. :thumbsup:

I think that you two misunderstand. The follwing was said in the auction:

"The reason why I am saying this is a PlayStation system with Debugging Station case is that the system only recognizes Japanese games ONLY. This system is the Japanese version and only Japanese games will work."

So it looks like it is the real deal after all.
