View Full Version : Don't want my EVERDRIVE GG...Anyone want it?

I received my EverDrive GG rom cartridge from stoneagegamer.com here in the California, in the United States. But I gotta say, I really changed my mind and don't want it.
The only reason is the Game Gear itself. It's a system that has aged horribly and the screen on mine is not in good condition. It really hurts my eyes to look at the screen, and overall, I appreciated playing these games on a Linux handheld device with an organic LED screen, like the GP2X Wiz.
I'm really feeling like I should have spent the money on an EverDrive Genesis cartridge instead. I would have preferred that.
If anyone wants to purchase the EverDrive GG cart from me, they are welcome to do so. I hear they may be sold out right now anyways. I will send you everything it came with. Please email me if anyone is interested.
If someone wants to get it from me, I will post it officially on Ebay so that we have an official contract between us and you're protected by Paypal. Thanks!

You need 50 posts to sell, you need to state a price, and it needs to be in the For Sale forum.
Three for three, promising first post ;)

thank you, I'm too much of a noob. Please forgive me. Actually, I immediately started looking for a way to delete this post but I can't find a delete button anywhere. Can you delete this post of mine for me?

A mod will be along presently to oblige. Don't worry, stick around!
This just furthers my idea of consolizing a GameGear.
Rip off the screen, put in the circuitry already available for TV output, put some SMS controller connectors on the front and bam, a GameGear in a box ready for play on a full sized TV. For kicks one could also put on a cartridge connector for SMS usage. Wonder if the GameGear could support FM audio with the appropriate circuitry.

This wold be really cool. Game Gear has some great games, but the lackluster hardware that doesn't stand the test of time and lack of a "Super Game Gear" really hurt it.

Assuming its still in the condition you got it in you can just send it back for a refund. We just can't refund you for original shipping cost.

This is pretty close to a 'Super Game Gear' mod:-

Take a look at some of the completed mod pictures futher down the page, like this one:-

Wow nice.
That's not bad. I haven't a clue what I'd use at this point for a case, it'd either be a SMS or something custom built.
One could also still have the ability to run off batteries but I can't think of any situation where that would be useful.

I've gotta share the sentiments, Game Gear really doesn't stand the test of time with the poor quality of the screen used, plus the whole 6 batteries thing. I prefer to just play in an emulator at this point, though a consolized GG would certainly be nice.

you could do one of two things or both
you could do what alot of people already do to nomads
and replace the screen with a modern LCD there is a composet feed ether on the bord itself or directly fed to the old crappy lcd
or you could do a video out mod for composet ive herd its also possible to do s-video out
me ide do both mods
or you could do what people have been doing alot of the last 5 years
and replace the screen platic cover and recap and replace the florescent lights in the GG

that was my finial suggestion but replacing the florescent lamps would also help battery life and brightness also
