Powers up to standard dash, doesn't run retail discs. Other than this I am hoping you can update me on what is what?
Debug kit. 128mb of ram as opposed to 64mb, runs a modified version of the retail dash and a modified BIOS to boot debug xbes. Can boot games off the harddrive and likely has something buried within there. Not sure how to do that myself.
Nothing too rare or unusual but worth more than your standard retail XBox for sure. Unlikely the debug kit is a "beta" version though, might have beta versions of games on it.

Xbox live beta kit,it acts more like a retail kit than a debug kit and you need the xbox live beta games, thats all it runs,it wont run retail or debug games.
I have heard you can black the eeprom and throw a recovery disc in there you can turn it back to a regular debug kit,a xbox live beta kit is just a modified debug kit.

Such as the discs mentioned in this blog post:
http://ebashbozack.wordpress.com/2010/09/22/my-experience-in-the-xbox-live-beta-in-2002/
? I've personally got the Live Beta Disc v1.1 here myself. Pressed and originally intended for use on retail XBoxes but I've never actually heard of Microsoft making modified debug kits specifically for XBox Live purposes.

Would be great if you have any more info on this, all I ever seem to find is how to turn a reg console to debug:banghead:

Ape,I remember Parris had a beta live debug kit that acted just like a regular debug kit and was unopened,I think the kit got sent back to MS and they reverted it back to a debug kit.

If I remember correctly these kits were used to test out xbox live before it hit mainstream.

Got the box from another board.
So any advances on what next? Anyone actually got one of these BETA things:shrug:

Sounds like Microsoft's MO.
I've got the v1.1 beta disc myself but I've yet to find the 1.0. Re-Volt isn't on the 1.0 disc though. :-)

This is probably not much help, but I remember user 'Old Engineer' used to have some of these and had pictures on his site:-

Unfortunately the site seems to have gone now, so the link is kind of useless  (I need to clear out all my dead bookmarks!)

Shame the OP didn't take a pic of the front of the Debugger, does it have the blue on white BETA sticker on the right hand side?
...Oh and what voltage?

Ahh I see what your saying OldE,it could very well be a debug kit thats been recovered to just the stranded dash.

Nice one!
You do indeed have one of the rare Xbox Live! BETA Debug Kits.
...Your's is the same as mine i.e. a PAL system.
The units are region locked.
You will need PAL (Beta Live!) game discs to run it.
...As far as is known I'm still probably the only person that has a full set of disc's, including the unreleased full game of 'Lamborghini', to match the system, plus all the paperwork etc.
Enjoy.

Ah, the good old "holy grails". :)
iirc, these kits were supposed to be returned to MS after the testing phase, though you got to keep the orange-translucent memory card, right? Friend of mine also kept the beta discs, but they were essentially worthless back then becausse they didn't work in a normal box. He didn't have access to Lamborghini though, seems that one was only out in very very limited numbers, probably only in the UK too.
A real shame for everyone who played the demo back then (like me ^^ )
Still got the memcard floating around, also had ReVolt, but sold it to somebody on this board five years ago.
I've got the disc with ReVolt myself but it attempts to force you to log into your Live account before you can do anything interesting. My hacking skills are subpar as well.
Been after that shiny memory card for a while though.

oh it's nothing special. Even lower capacity than the retail memcards, but something useful to fill up a controller slot ^^ And the color is kinda cool.
Iirc, there was also a disc pouch with the Xbox Live logo and a special version of the headset with some kits.

The public Xbox Live tester kit is different than this debug box obviously.

I knew a guy who was accepted into the public Live beta, probably because he was an Earthlink employee at the time and had access to some nice internet pipes for the time.
Retail XBox, got sent the orange memory card, a special headset and the v1.1 disc containing Re-Volt like I have. Very different setup from this debug for sure.
I'm just a whore for XBox stuff, my particular love next to the Dreamcast.
