Scammer report : user Frodo_the_hobbit

Before starting anything here, few words to the moderators or admins:
I PMed Assembler some days ago to detail him the full story of my problems. I think it's important to expose some scammer members when it's possible, to let everybody know but also to avoid similar problems to all assemblergames fair users.
Feel free to move this topic into the feedback section if you judge it's better, but since there is a lot more visitors into the "user marketplace", it could be better to let this thread here just a week or so to be well seen.

I will not detail here the whole story because it could be long. To make it short, a member of assemblergames named "Frodo_the_hobbit" (but you can find him on other forums too with the same nick) got in his hands some Metal Gear games that are mine... He's famous for selling/buying various devkits.

Well, since months, he plays with me and I imagine he tries to make all of these games to disapear from my memories. I mailed or PMed him to various adresses and forums to be well sure he ignores me voluntarily (as he continues to browse the marketplace or answer to some topics here). And more recently he just disappeared from everywhere, some other members tried to contact him too, probably a nick change or something to be forgotten.

But I hate to be scammed, and even if I can't do a lot of things to retrieve my games now, I collected enough infos to expose him publicly (name, adress, paypal... and much more).

Frodo, I'm pretty sure you'll see this message because you're too addicted to the proto stuffs to drop this forum totally :)
Your nickname can change, but probably not your personal infos. Now, I'm ready to forget everything and delete this thread if you give me some news fast (or refund me totally). I let you a week (18/01), then... full exposure will begin.

Readers, you have to know that I'm a very cool guy, I accept delays easily, I refund when something is going wrong... and dozens of members here can confirm I'm a trustable guy. I NEVER had any problems during trades/sells/buys here or elsewhere. So yeah, you can consider this as a personnal vengeance. I just hope that google robots will record this thread and all the things I'll post in a week. I just hope that it will help all of you (and guys browsing google why not) to not fall on this guy again.

I'm a little lost. can you please clearly explain how you where scammed and over what. As well where you scammed on this forum or a different forum?

Sure subbie.
The scam was not directly coming from assemblergames forums. I mean, not to some items available here. Frodo was a guy very interested by wii recent dev kits (rvt-r,-h or writer) and I contacted him here on assembler after reading some posts he did on various topics. First by pm, then msn, and we became quite good friends after some weeks, exchanging infos, photos or protos.. Nothing more legit for two collectors.

One day he told me that he got a close friend, who sometimes meet some staff members of Konami and can have some items signed. So, nothing very impossible for someone who got nice contacts. So I sent him just some Metal Gear games to have them signed. After trading some high valued prototypes, what is the interest to steal some commons Metal Gear game hmm? So I sent him 3 games, and all continued like before.. speaking, trading etc..

After some times I asked some news of my games. He said he have sent them to his friend, with some of his own games too to be signed. Again, nothing very suspicious or strange here. Time passed again, and I sometime asked what was the news about my games. Each time he had a new good excuse to win some time ("my friend received them well, he'll meet some staff guys soon", "My friend has sent them back, I'm waiting for them", "ok they are well arrived but at my mother's home, now I've to go retrieving them"..).

After this, he became more and more hard to be joined. He probably blocked me on msn and never responded to my emails or pm. But his status on assembler forums and other websites was always active, he was frequently coming as before. So no connection problems and that's really why I'm thinking he's simply ignoring me.
I know some other guys, here on assembler, who also tried to contact him for totally other subjects than my games.. and he never answered neither. So what to think?

Personally I think he probably sold the games, and now try to hide himself by changing his nick.. who know. So ok, I got his address here in France, but I'm not going to pay a train ticket which will cost me the price of the games to get them back. I was maybe too naive, but again, why stealing some little video games when you're trading prototypes lol. That's why I want to let him one last week, to find and read this topic and give me a clear answer. Then.. well, I will share all infos I got about him, so he'll never scam someone else here.

So it was not a money steal, but nice items are gone now. And I got good reasons for being unhappy... I hope I've answered you subbie, sorry for my bad english mate.

If he is stealing 'common' games that's because he's more likely to get away with it.

Allow me to help.. Frodo told psykopat that his friend could sign his MGS games for him.. To do so psykopat would have to send them to Frodo. Obviously he sent them and Frodo never responded to him since.. Probably selling the games (STEALING).

Thats a behavior I cannot understand, I personally had dealt with Frodo, sold Wii Dev stuff to him and he appeared to be a honest guy.

I cannot understand that he just keeps the MGS games from you, this truly sucks and they are not really rare or so, autographed or not.

I also had always a good communication with him but apparently it stopped about a month or so ago...

Judging by the fact that he still is pretty active here on the boards and just ignoring your PMs it would be the best to cut the deadline you gave him and expose his name and address at once.

I hope you can get this somehow solved and SHAME ON YOU FRODO.

lol I don't know if this thread helped or not... but Frodo suddenly contacted me yesterday by email (after three months of blackout). The metal gear games seem on the way from my house now. Let's wait some days to see if it's real :)

Anyway his reputation is f´ed up and he has to show that he is a honest guy at last.

All games arrived well some minutes ago. They are all here.
I don't know what to think.. 3 months with no news and when I post something publicly, the games are here two days after lol. It's probably the "assemblergames" power !

Well, a good ending with this story. Admins or mods, you can delete this thread now, thanks. It was a good lesson for me, now I'll collect the max infos as possible about my sellers lol.. it could help when problems happen :rolleyes:

Nah, unfortunately it was a great deception but none were signed. So just waste of time and money for shipping :crying:
Even worst, I included a cool golden pen to sign the discs or plastic sleeves, and... it was missing in the pack he sent me back...
But I'll not cry. Solid Snake was the most important and I prefer to see my games safe instead of a little pen.
