Hello all.
Seems like every other week another FZ-35s or 55 is popping up for sale. Any thoughts (besides the economy) why the rash of sales recently? It is not like the M2 has a new version coming out or anything like that.
I just have found this a bit odd.

It's a collecting cycle.
Economy was good.
Lots of people bought the systems.
Lots of people realized that they can't do shit with the systems.
Economy is bad.
People need money.
People sell systems that they can't do anything with.
;)

Yep.
Now is the time to buy, when foolish purchases ripen on the vine for picking by the savvy.

Only one 55 came up for sale. I listed it because I wanted to see what it would do, not because I made a foolish purchasing decision. ;-)
Also, there have only been 2 35's come up for sale. One CIB, and another one loose which was listed twice. I know the seller of the CIB unit, and he was just dumping some stuff he had lying around.
Three units, unless I missed something.

It's nothing exciting.
Just one of Ling Jr's eternally overpriced auctions. ;)

At least he makes the nuclear option available to the rich.
His business relies on people making...impulse purchases.

$220 for a boxed fz-35? What a joke.
Buy low, sell high. Now would be the time to buy, not sell.

I still turned a profit on that unit tbh, though it did end alot lower than the recent non-cib one. Times are tough so offloading alot of stuff that I don't really touch
The shipping to germany for the guy who bought it was nearly as much as he paid for it since he wanted fedex.

Seriously, in good times that would have been a $500 item or more.
Why sell now?

Unemployed for a few months and hitting walls, trust me I'm sure I'll regret it down the line. I literally bought it for $50 in 2006 though, just checked my email to make sure I was remembering that correctly.
panasonic 3DO M2 FZ-35S prototype machine complete rare
Sale price: $50.00
I was hoping to atleast hit $300 after the last one showed people were actually interested in them now but oh well.
From what I can remember the prices that M2 hardware is reaching now is pretty high compared to what they previously fetched though, I really didn't keep an eye on them after I got mine but I don't remember them ever fetching very much, which I imagine is partially due to the software rarely showing up

I can understand the hardship.
You probably could have sold the box alone for $150.

Wasn't aware to be honest, live and learn
just to verify cuz I know the original non-photocopied manual doesn't show up too often, there are full scans already right?

Manual isn't a biggie. As a package it's nice. I'd say you got good money for the times we're in.
I'm looking to get a final version system for my collection, all I have is beta hardware.

mainly just asking on the manual because I could still do new scans if the existing ones are missing pages

What the hell is going on with those fz35s... almost 700gbp for a m2 kiosk?? I really should have bought ten of these when i was getting them for 50$!! Damn crazy ebay!

Whoever bought it probably didn't know that IMSA has been publicly released. The last 3 FZ-35's didn't sell anywhere near that amount but they didn't have a CD-R of IMSA bundled with them.

50$ shortly after the console being cancelled?

I'm surprised that so many people consider owning FZ-35s a treasure. This is not the assemblergames I remember. The community never bought them when they were $50 because no one really considered them M2's. There are so many of them out there. Same reason no one cares that you have M2 arcade boards... they are just common arcade boards...nothing special. I concede that M2 enthusiasts want every piece..
The FZ 21 and similars were the real goal for most of us. Granted they didn't all play unifinished demo's, but they were the console in spirit. Anyone can own an FZ 35. The new breed of M2 collectors are a little jaded IMO, but to each their own.
The FZ 35 is a kiosk. A Kiosk that can run M2 CDR's.

for a thousand dollars i donīt think anyone can own a fz 35, i might be crazy, but if these kiosk units are sold for this price, that console unit of m2 with devkit might be in a fair price.

I agree with this for the most part. Having actually used M2s at a company where I used to work for training, I just don't really get the appeal of the FZ-35s. Panasonic sold quite a few of them to commercial and industrial users (I know we had a few dozen and a couple of dev kits) and they had long since given up any hope of them being used for home gaming at the time they were released. I think maybe it's because they are pretty close in internal design to the final hardware of the intended console gaming unit, but from my perspective, I'd rather own the arcade boards as at least those are fun to play.
the ebay m2 + devkit from lingjr might have been brought, i donīt see him anymore.
