Very cool! Thanks!
Something interesting in the final video but the game seems to run slower in the final build then the beta. Is it just a 60hz/50hz thing?
Anyways this looks fun, I might have to hunt down a cart and try this game out.
Something I don't see written much online is that VIS after going under was bought out by dc-studios who funded the release of SOE2 (with staff at Vis still developing it).

Hmm interesting, both are PAL so it shouldn't be a 50/60hz thing?

Shouldn't but if you look at the last video, the proto looks more fluid and the final looks really sluggish as if it's running at a lower fps.
Kind of odd.

Made another comparison today but it's not nearly as interesting as Tom & Jerry

The Tom & Jerry comparison is very good. It's great to see that there are more differences than first expected after delving into the game.
Are you planning on doing a comparison on the EWJ 3D cart?

Earthworm Jim is a big task to compare, but I'll do it eventually...
Here's another though http://www.nesworld.com/n64-proto-f1worldgrandprix.php
