I want to know if PAL Dreamcast controlers work on NTSC consoles? I don't see why they wouldn't, it's just the controler. But I want to make sure before I drop $50+ on new ones.

Yep, no reason for them not to.

I use a Jap DC pad on my PAL DC, if that's any help.

Correct, although Sega allowed 3rd party light guns to work on the console:-

Sweet, looks like I'm gunna have some new controlers:dance: Hopefully I can find the clear shells for the actual console too.

The lightgun is *not* region protected.

The US retail version of HotD 2 is specifically programmed to ignore the Asian/Euro light gun, but the hardware itself works perfectly fine with the console.

Tell me if I'm wrong, but the light gun is the only dreamcast device which has a area protection code. It was a choice of game developers to use it or not. Removing gun country area detection is possible but not so easy :banghead:
