View Full Version : Extract CPU key from a devkit

Hello

I am expecting a white 360 XDK Xenon, with a full sidecar in the mail in the next week or so.

I am wondering, if anyone knows how to extract the CPU key from the console, as I do not have the 4929 or 5426 recovery disk.

I know that the JTAG hack can be used to obtain the key on retail consoles, but have anyone attempted to build an image for a devkit, and have sucessfully dumped the CPU key in any method?

Thanks

From what I hear, the old kingkong exploit is the only way to do it on Devkits.

Could be wrong though.

Just curious, what are you planning on doing with your dumped CPU key?

Decrypting his NAND? Not much else you can do with it.

So in your opinions, the only possible solution is by dumping the key in Linux using KK?

Yeah but you can't use the normal released KK, that won't work on devkits.

Well I used the one that you use for retails (the prehacked one) and it worked perfectly just signed for dev and ran the exploit.

Also make sure you recover with retail mode (or whatever it was called) otherwise this won't work.

Most people can find the KK exploit. Getting the old recovery takes a little more work mostly because the average dev dumps the older stuff once newer goodies are available.

Your not going to find 5426 or 4929 recovery disc on net and don't ask for them here.

Hostile much?

Not really. It's really just known that those specific recoveries are exploitable, and people who actually have them would have brains enough not to leak them for multiple reasons

Hostile much?

Clearly some people haven't learnt from the bans handed out not so long ago.

Don't the latest disks come with the kit once you order it? If so, then you might be out of luck. Then again, I'm not accepted into said program yet. *Crosses fingers* I have a zephyr demo with the 4548 recovery (came with), so I will be using the KK hack myself. (Talk to you more regarding that on msn).

Anyone know what the latest recovery the KK hack works with? I understand that I'm fine with my 4548, but I wasn't sure what the latest one I could be on, seeing questions with '4929' and '5426'.

According to the users on this forum, 4929 and 5426 will work fine with the KK hack

Thanks. (I know, you were sarcastic).

To those of you that choose to ignore Pikkon's post, you'll note that your posts are now deleted.

If you want copies of the Microsoft developer tools you need to go elsewhere. Do not ask here.

Better off not asking at all, because you won't get it anywhere else.
