View Full Version : URGENT : IF YOU HAVE BOUGHT FROM ME
Parris

I have just received an email from a customer in Ireland who got a parcel supposed to go to Germany. In calling DHL they have mixed up 3 or 4 parcels.
The following people will be affected:
Schwatter
Poolchamp (not a member here)
Vectrex_Rox
Serantes
I labelled the boxes correctly, but the DHL driver slapped on the WRONG counterfoils (barcodes) and parcels are being scanned and sent to the wrong addresses.
IF you receive a parcel that is NOT yours, please leave it alone, PM me and I shall arrange with DHL for collection and your item to be dropped off with you.
Thus far I have ascertained that Poolchamps package was going to Serantes address, that Schwatter's parcel was going to Poolchamp and Serantes was going to Vectrex_Rox, so...
I have called DHL and THEY are resolving this mistake, I can only apologise and this comes on top of a really, really stressful couple of weeks.
Please let me know if you have received the wrong parcel.

Just to let everyone know. I have spoken to Natalie Lafferty at Parcel2Go.com (Ext: 217) and she has stated that P2Go and DHL will collect & redeliver DIRECTLY to the CORRECT addresses FREE OF CHARGE (i.e. nobody will be out of pocket).
IF you receive a parcel that is not addressed to you, please PM me, I shall arrange for Natalie to sort it out, however (and for this I apologise) you'll need to make yourself available for collection and probably speak to either Natalie or to your DHL office locally.
I am truly sorry for this, the DHL driver is a great guy, I speak to him twice a week and he's never made this mistake before.
Bear with me, we'll sort it all out!

Schwatter's parcel is due to be picked up tomorrow.
V_Rs is in Germany, but DHL are arranging collection f& redelivery
Serante's parcel has arrived safely
This is Schwatter's parcel as it arrived back with me. Don't worry, I opened it and checked it over. The only thing ripped or damaged was the actual parcel paper (looks worse than it was as this was opened in Ireland and immediately handed back to DHL who taped it up as you see in image). Box will be repackaged today prior to shipping to Germany.
Image removed after Schwatter confirmed seeing it.
I can only apologise to Schwatter for the long, long wait, but hopefully he can see from this image that I was indeed telling the truth about DHLs mess!

I have just established the Mr Hard's parcel may also be affected by this. Awaiting confirmation on Monday as DHL claim to have delivered item and Mr Hard hasn't received it.
Thomas, I appreciate your concern and understand totally that this is frustrating. I'm doing all that I can at this end to speed things up, but I am dealing with several different countries, some people have failed to email me and let me know whether they've received items or not, DHL are being less than helpful as they are blaming it on the Parcel2Go.com agent, whilst Parcel2Go.com are blaming it on DHL.
Meanwhile everyone is caught up wondering why it is taking so long. Your parcel is safe and sound... in the wrong country, but safe.
Can I ask that Schwatter sends an image and posts it here as proof it exists and is in Germany please.
Schwatter has ANYONE from DHL contacted you yet as I keep being told that they are "looking into it".
Ultimately if this all goes pear shaped, I will accept the £2000 hit and refund everyone. I would rather not do so as the items are really DHL's responsibility, but hey!
I can't really help any more than I currently am, it's been the most frustrating incident in 10 years of buying and selling. From now on I am using Interparcel and dropping Parcel2go.com
Hang in there folks!

I'll take some photo the next hour.
edit:
So here it is. I opened it just once, to check the content for Parris. I could see the beta live kit with V_R's name
written on the cellotape. I closed it after with transparent cellotape, so that i don't cover anything from
the shippingdetails!

Latest news:
Thomas, your parcel is with Stephan and DHL are arranging collection. It will have to be organised to suit Stephan, so I cannot confirm the day / time it will be uplifted.
Stephan, can you please PM me once DHL contact you. If they have not called you within 3 days, urgently contact me and I shall chase them again. We are kind of at the mercy of these courier companies!
Stephan I have rewrapped your parcel after testing it and checking it over. No damage. DHL are arranging collection, hopefully tomorrow, but at latest Thursday. I shall PM you the tracking details.
Mr. Hard. Your parcel has been traced, is safely on it's way back to me. They are delivering it here tomorrow. I shall check it over and if possible get DHL to take it immediately for redelivery.
Serantes has his parcel. Can you keep an eye open for a missing parcel please as it was suggested that it would be going to Spain.
Thanks.
Once the 3 parcels are on their way again, I am going to have a long lie in a darkened room.

I have spoken to DHL and they have arranged with Germany to have the parcel collected and shipped straight over to Austria. Dhl Germany will contact your customer for an available time to collect. DHL Uk advised me that they had tracking on the Ireland parcel into Spain and they are currently looking into this for you.
The Germany parcel that you have back will need rebooking for collection if you can call me on 01204 XXXXXX and ask for mel on extension XXX we can have this arranged for you.
Thanks for your time.

Just called Melanie right now. Stephan, DHL Germany will be calling you in the next couple of days. I have NO idea why they never contacted you last week or why it is taking them so long to contact you, but if you are at all concerned then you can get Melanie's number from me and you can call her to verify.
She is booking YOUR parcel today, so DHL will be picking it up today or tomorrow and I'll pass on the NEW tracking number.

They are ultimately responsible and this is the only way the parcel will get to you as I am not expecting Stephan to pay for shipping.
I appreciate your frustrations Thomas, this is the first time in 10 years this has ever happened, but everyone else has accepted that it isn't my fault, that I have indeed sent the items out, that they have arrived at various locations because of an error created by DHL and they are also all just as pissed off, frustrated and annoyed as you are. Nobody is more annoyed and angry about this situation than me as if 1 particular parcel remains missing I stand to lose £1000.
Everyone's parcels are being reorganized, nobody is losing anything and I assure you that if the very worst should happen, I will pay you back.
Please Thomas accept my apology, but I can't be held responsible for the mistakes made by DHL.
You'll get your parcel. Stefan is a genuine guy, admitted that he's received your parcel, immediately contacted me and wrapped it all up securely. He'll ensure DHL pick it up, but it must be at HIS convenience, not ours!
Thanks!

Totally agree that it has taken them a great deal longer than I initially thought it would. They also told me that the Irish parcel was completely lost, but have traced it to Spain, but nobody has yet established precisely where it is. Also Mr Hard's parcel was to be collected, yet I've had to remind them again today that it is still here!
It's been a time consuming experience and I demanded that it be resolved this week.

No names mentioned, but can the person asking a 3rd party to send their parcel on to them please refrain from doing so as DHL are handling it and I have worked my arse off to resolve this. Somewhere in the region of 18 hours on the telephone to 4 different countries in the last 3 weeks.
If you leave it in the couriers' hands then NO other money needs to be transferred and everything will arrive free-of-charge. Going behind my back to resolve the issue and asking others to handle their packages really isn't helping.
Please ffs, give me a break and be patient - I know the stuff from my collection was cool, but you can wait another few days surely!

Thomas, several people are caught up in this, not just you and I might add that Schwatter has been excellent in this. He's been trying to push his local DHL office to resolve this on my behalf to help you out as quickly as possible, but simply moaning every couple of days or going directly to him to persuade him to send you your parcel directly really isn't helpful.
It's not like you are being ripped off!
Nobody will be out of pocket on this, I said it right at the beginning and it took a lot of pushing to even get DHL to accept their responsibility. They even went to the length of suggesting that I had wrongly labelled the parcels myself (when I wasn't even present at the uplift).
They tried therefore to pin it on my partner, who told them that she'd actually let the driver handle all the paperwork himself.
So, it's in the hands of DHL whether you like them or not. ;-)
As for compensation, I doubt whether I will get any at all and if the main parcel goes missing I stand to lose a considerable amount of money. I had to send images to a DHL office in Spain yesterday detailing the exact item and what was inside it. If it's gone, if they cannot trace it (having signed for it in Spain) then I'm £1000 less well off this Christmas.

The contents of this particular parcel were not insured to the full value as I stupidly took the risk. I've sent hundreds of parcels via DHL and never had a single problem like this before.
Complacency is a bastard. DHL via Parcel2go.com only cover to a maximum of £500 per parcel. I would be expected to fork out the rest of the value.

"FW: Parcel2Go.com - Claim Resolved
From: Parris (XXXXXXXXX@hotmail.co.uk)
Sent: 23 November 2009 10:05:47
To: Melanie XXXXX (Parcel2Go.com) (XXXXXXX@parcel2go.com)
Melanie,
I received this email this morning stating that the claim had been resolved in the subject header, which made me immediately think "Great, well at least something is happening with that missing parcel" only to open it and discover that it's not resolved, it's turned down, which is an entirely different outcome altogether.
This whole debacle has been a complete shambles from the off. I appreciate the fact that you have done as much as you possibly could in resolving this matter for me and it is (in my opinion) just on the verge of being completely resolved, but I'd like to challenge this bizarre decision.
1) I initially contacted Parcel2go.com as soon as I realised that the parcel in question was missing. I was told it had been signed for, clearly in error as it has simply disappeared from the system.
2) I spoke to Natalie XXXXXXXX (Ext XXX) for a few days and nothing much really appeared to be happening. Her advice was simply to leave everything as is, let the parcels arrive at the "wrong" destinations and then contact again once I'd received confirmation. That seemed sound advice and that's what I did.
3) Instead of getting through to Natalie, we ended up speaking and suffice to say you moved things along as swiftly as you possibly could, yet it transpired that I was just on the verge of (what I personally think is a very short claims & loss period of a mere 28 days). You told me to submit the paperwork and I did via email, which you admitted to having received.
4) Now it transpires that DHL are not really sure what they are looking for, as I have been provided with the wrong information on this parcel, its just gone from the system completely without a trace! So it's evaporated, nothing can be found and when you attempted to put a trace on it the wrong information came back about an entirely different parcel which had been returned to me and that issue resolved.
I have to say, I am not entirely confident that DHL knows it's posterior from it's elbow on this one, so to be told "your claim has failed" is, to put it mildly adding insult to injury.
As the injured party in all of this I have had to contact Parcel2go on numerous occasions and feel that I have been more than reasonable, I've not lost my temper, I've explained the situation, I adhered to the requests of various staff members and for over a month I have jumped through daily hoops trying to correct what appears to have been a relatively minor technical issue that has caused untold confusion.
One night I called about this parcel you were not available. I began to describe the situation after she said "can I perhaps help instead" only to get half way through the story when she interrupted and said "not being funny, but could you perhaps call Mel in the morning as I don't understand this at all". Excellent I thought, I now have my own personal member of staff called Melanie who appears to be the only person qualified to help me, so you'd better not go on holiday, become ill or leave before this is done or I am in real trouble!
I've been treated very well, and I also feel that it's not your fault therefore why lose your temper with members of staff. You never get anywhere with anyone if you don't treat them with respect. However, my patience is really running out,
You and I both know that this issue was not of my making. We both know that I have taken hours out of my normal daily routine to work through this and also provided everything in a timely fashion as and when requested.
I've even continued to use Parcel2Go.com!
However, this for me is the final straw. Your claims handling system is rubbish! As soon as a customer calls and a parcel is deemed lost in transit, then it should surely be up to your company to log this as a fact. I need to submit the paperwork, which I certainly managed within the 28 day period. You lost the parcel, you admit to losing the parcel, the problem was generated by your system (either between yourselves or the courier company), I have done everything apart from jump in the DHL van, come down the depot and look for the parcel myself! Now I am told "sorry, your claims has been rejected".
Not good enough!
Can you please resolve this matter otherwise I am going to start complaining like no other customer has ever complained. I'll not stop complaining until I achieve customer satisfaction and I'll call / write / email until that is achieved. I have lots of time on my hands and a great deal of stone determination to be treated like a customer rather than an inconvenience.
I am not having a go at you, I need you to relax, I need you to remained focused and calm. This matter will be resolved in a timely and appropriate fashion I am sure of it, just please don't suffer from stress and take time off work or I am in deep trouble here. I appreciate everything you have achieved on this mess thus far and hope that you can make your claims / loss department see the sense it clearly wasn't born with.
Bottom line, Parcel2go.com is responsible for handling my packages. They ended up in different countries and being lost in transit. I demand the refund I am entitled to as I was within that 28 deadline and you confirmed receipt for me.
Thanks,
Yours, reaching boiling point,

So, as you were saying Thomas about me being entitled to some kind of compensation lol
What a shower of shit eh? I submitted the paperwork via email within their 28 day period, got Mel to log it in their system as having been received and she confirmed this to me.
Claim rejected on the ground of it being submitted AFTER their deadline of 28 days.
I've had enough of this tbh and they can shove it where the sun doesn't shine, but I'll keep calling and calling until I get something back, even if it's not the missing parcel.

I'm now getting the silent treatment from Parcel2go.com
Having complained and called them to speak with Mel I was told she was busy and would call me. Fair enough, so I waited and nothing. No response to the email and to make matters worse the parcels were NOT uplifted today by DHL. I received an email stating "failed collection".
Ross will back me up here as he was at mine today. They must have knocked on my door with a small woolen slipper and skipped off two seconds later as I said to Ross "I think that might be a van engine", walked to the door and saw the arse end of a yellow van disappear round the corner. Where I live is a loop and I ran in the opposite direction to catch the van driver. Nothing, gone!
Normally a card is shoved through the letterbox and normally the driver is really good. He knows I am often working in my garage and knocks on the door, but nothing today.
So, Mr. Hard your uplift is booked for tomorrow. I am sick of this and fed up!

That's this finished as soon as confirmation comes in that this last parcel has safely arrived.
Thanks for letting me use AG to keep people posted ;-)

To conclude. I thought this was all over and done with, but...
1) This morning I received a Customs letter demanding that I pay the VAT and a customs fee for an item that was MINE and being returned to me from the wrong country! (Return address on parcel is mine, so wtf?)
2) I eventually got an email from Parcel2Go.com (10 weeks later) offering me a mere £70.00 compensation for all my hassle.
So, I have to fight now with Customs (never easy) and the compensation just covers the costs of the fee, so I guess I end up with £0.00.
I switched to Interparcel.com in November. One parcel was 24hrs late (on a guaranteed 24hr deal). I emailed them and asked when it was likely to be delivered and they immediately apologised and offered me a full refund, which they put back into my bank.... the same day!
Parcel2go > gone!
Anyone shipping anything in the UK or abroad, I recommend Interparcel as their system is better, they tend to give you more options and they actually sort things out if anything goes wrong. Win!
£70 compensation for 4-5 weeks worth of hassle and multiple parcels in the wrong countries?! That really is laughable!
I have never had an issue with interparcel before but it is reassuring to know that if anything does arise they are quick and easy to deal with.
Hope you manage to get something sorted with the customs office, I have had dealings with them before but I think I was fighting a lost cause.

Kiff, I really need to point out to them that I was the sender and DHL screwed up. If I am being charged import duties and VAT on a UK item then they can go screw themselves right royal-(mint)-ly
Yeah, the £70 compensation I argued about until I was blue in the face and they didn't shift. They initially offered £50. Never again!

I may take your advice as i have tended to use DHL via parcel2go and its been OK so far when sending anything but i've read some story's on the web not just here and it seems like they have an OK system when nothing goes wrong or whatever but then when things happen that shouldn't then it seems as if the system they have isn't good.
