I think this would be the best place for this, seeing as it's the restoration area. I have recently gotten an Xbox 360 (Xenon MoBo) that has never been sent into microsoft with a revision date of '05. The only thing is that the 360's DVD drive (a hitachi that had been flashed, not by me) stopped reading games. That basically means the laser is dead since it opens and closes, and spins up discs (you can hear the motor). I was wondering what the best course of action is?
Either:
a) Grab the DVD key and spoof another drive (I was thinking lite-on, they are the quietest and coolest)
b) replacing the DVD's laser
c) some other method I had not thought of.
I would like to hear your suggestions, since you guys would know more than me. I would like to point out I am 16, I'm on my own budget, and I am far from financially stable so remember, price range. (Preferably >75). I don't know if this comes off asshole ish or if I'm in the wrong section, but I'm new here, please don't be mean.
