The soccer badge is tacked on because a large portion of these SUV Driving mothers have children (most little girls) who plays soccer, thus they often cart around their children in these SUV's to and from their soccer games/practices and so on.

Soccer Moms just moved from station wagons (70's) to mini vans (80's - 90's) now on to a multitude of SUVs and SUV wannabes.

They really should just control their child production and all the gas hogs could be left to the men. :-D
