I'm a huge Bond Fan Favorite bond being ofcourse Sean Connery.
Casino Royale quickly became my favortie Bond flim because it was back to Sean Connery Basics with out the Goofy antics of Blofeld (the insperation for Dr Evil) making things Campy
That Said this new one looks pretty good too. Daniel Craig is by and far the Best Bond since Sean Connery and I love Judi Dench as M.
Anyone else looking forward to seeing it this weekend?

The game of the film is by far the best 007 game ever made, thoroughly enjoyed it, especially the bit where you have to get back to the Aston at Casino Royale.

Is it as funny as casino royale? I loved the beginning of CR because it was action packed and the black guy ninja'd his way around obstacles and bond just busted through them.
Think "strength boss battle from house of the dead.

i'm a huge bond fan as well and i give not a little bit shit on the new stuff (anything newer than licence to kill).
casino royal was indeed better than almost all the prev. stuff which brosnan acted in.
i didn't see the new flick yet, but wat i heard off, there are almost no bond elements left, which probably makes it the worst movie ever in terms of bond flicks.
i'm a huge fan of connery and moore, both of them had a great and unique appearance and a very own and different character role. i also liked lazenby since he played in one of the greatest bond movie of ever.
dalton was a little bit a case for its own, but still i liked his two movies since all seemed to be presented and well set. nice barry BGM, the old broccoli & saltzman brigade all the stuff and gadget etc. a bond needs to create the needed atmosphere. he was a little bit sentimenal thought.
anyway today almost all of the old spirit is gone and what's left are solid action movies a la bourne & co.
IMO they should give this francise a head shot and bury bond for ever.

Brosnon was a good bond but in Bad movies.
Gagets and Crazy super villians just aren't realistic in today's atmosphere so Bond has to evolve with the times as Roger Moore did with his tonge in cheek bond, as Brosnon did with his 90s cheese bond and as Daniel Craig is doing with his Post modern humanized Bond.
I tend to like Bond Films that rely less on Gadgets and silly villians so From Russia with Love, For your eyes Only, Casino Royal Those tend to be my favorites.
But there's no disputing that Goldfinger is 12 kinds of awesome.
Worst bond though?
Die another day.........it was utter shitfuck.

This one was OK, but hardly felt like a Bond film, they're really pushing the envelope (in both good and bad ways).

Quantum of Solace is one of my fave Bonds. Its main problem is it follows Casino Royal so has to live up to the stupidly high expectations it brings. Royal was so big its hard for Quantum to be as big again. In its own right its an amazing film.
People have slated these new Bonds as "not being very Bond like". Follow the storyline and there is a reason for it - in it he is not 007. These two films set James Bond to become the Bond he is in the later films. For that reason Daniel Craig plays it perfectly.

Yeah I think alot of people forget this. They're so critical of it for not being Bond like they forgot he like JUST got his 00 status.
But also this is an updated modernized Bond as well. For him to be relateable he has the be gritty as is he now.
Did you know Ian Flemming partally based Bond on Himself?

No, it's because it is effectively a prequel and a reimagining of the Bond character/mystique and people are getting sick and tired of good franchises being screwed around with. Bond didn't need to be "updated." I haven't seen it yet, but QoS looks less like a Bond flick and more like a revenge flick a la Crank or Payback.

Any one read the books, the 2 new films follow them more closely then any other Bond film.

Got to see this yesterday, very well done. One thing I noticed is that every five minutes there's a chase scene - car chase, boat chase, foot chase, plane chase, etc.
This guy seems a lot more brutal than the other Bonds, not as suave. Plus there's not many of the trademark Bond gadgets anywhere. Still had a great time though.

honestly, no one gives a shit about the books accuracy in bond movies.
bond movies had they very own and unique atmosphere produced by unforgetable settings (ken adams), unforgetable musics (john barry), unforgetable gadgets, action, car chasing, villains, henchmen, jokes, uniquness..
now today almost the only one thing is left seems to be the action.

We're not you. So it's not so much what's wrong with us, but what's wrong with you?
Personally, I don't care if it's a good movie or not, it just does not seem like a Bond film. I thought Casino Royale was a good movie, but a poor Bond movie.

I thought that the Bond series was in dire need of some change... so I love the two latest movies. Compared to Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace is much less story and more action... but it's still a great movie.

but i am one, and how i am!! as i already mentioned above. and i have to agree with mairsis.
my statements and thoughts about you can read above as well.
i think noone criticises the new bonds as bad movies, but as bad, or better said, quite incomplete bonds.
good action and bond actor /= good bond movie

hmm I thought I said something random in here.
Anyways from what I understand. Daniel Craig Bond is the Bond Ian Flemming had in mind. The Bonds we know are just the flavors the actors and writers added to the character.

so again, who really gives anyting about what Ian Flemming had in mind? a man who not even could be a witness of his own 3rd book adaption and all the following ones.
bond in mind of all the people is what bond did in the past 46 years of bond movie history. and again, so far noone criticises graig as a bad bond actor, if something is really worth to criticise, it's anything around graig.
I just saw the movie today. And I thought it was really entertaining. However, Bond really didn't act like Bond at all. He was really emotional and shit, and that just ain't Bond.
But the action scenes were SICK.

Hes not bond as you know him. Royal and Quantum are films to explain how he becomes James Bond 007. They explain why he ends up basically gives his life up for "Queen and Country". Before he is just an agent,a normal person who loses his wife hense hes a bit emotional and dark. M is almost a mother figure in parts of the film to him.Once Quantum is ended he more or less is the Bond we know.
People go in the Picture House expecting a normal Bond are going to whine about it, but if you look into the story line the film as amazing.
That doesn't make sense though. The Bond we know would have banged that one chick, told her not to call, and left.

Well Bond does develop emotional attachments.
-Tomrrow never dies (way better than I remember it being too)
-Oh her Majesty's secret Service (one of the BEST ones too)

I saw it yesterday. Awesome. Better than Casino Royale in some ways, which retro-nostalgia for the old skool stuff aside, I considered to be one of the best Bond movies yet. Fantastic.
This is how a Bond movie should be. I do sometimes find myself wishing for some of the tongue in cheek ridiculousness that was the Roger Moore era, but this is much more relevant contemporary and entertaining. I believe all the stunts are real too, none of the CG. I have to applaud that, and it makes watching it all the more exciting.
I don't know how anyone can call that steaming dogs turd 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service' one of the best movies. The moment you say that, your opinion becomes so tainted that I can no longer to bear even seeing your text on my laptop screen. Anything to be controversial, I guess.
Whenever I watch the new Bond, it makes me wonder what could have been for Timothy Dalton. He was great, but too much of a juxtaposition after Moore, I suppose. That is why we needed Brosnan. He bridged the gap between what once was and what now is.
