I was sitting around feeling crappy about how the game industry has progressed and I decided to go through all of my old stuff. I opened a box and nearly got teary eyed at the sight of my oldest console, an Atari 130XE with disk drive. So many of my childhood memories revolve around this system. Those were the days when my older brother and I would spend our weekends(and almost every other night) with a case of Mountain Dew and whatever snack food we could scrounge up with our weekly allowance and we would just play. All night, as long as we could stay awake, we would just play......sigh...The memories of 2 player Gauntlet will forever haunt my memories and the vision of the Elven archer will forever be lodged within my brain.

I started with the family NES that we got for Christmas in 1987 or 1988. My first console that I bought was my SNES, with a boxed Chrono Trigger, boxed Doom, and boxed Mario RPG. I sold it a few months later to buy a Playstation and Final Fantasy VII. I'm kicking myself for that one... :smt022

Well, My dad had an Atari since it came out....but I nor my siblings took much interest in it...but in 1989...it was NES time...yeah...I know...we were a bit late...But we all agreed it was awesome...In fact, I have that christmas on VHS somewhere...
From there it was Genesis M2...which me, my brother, and sister each chipped in $30 for...and my parents gave us the last 30...(Sidenote...my sister says I was like 4 when we got it...and I gave no money for it....M2 GENESIS! I WAS Born in 85! AND WE GOT THE GENESIS PRETTY LATE IN ITS LIFE....shes really really dumb...end rant....)
And from there, I sarted buying everything...

My very first computer was a Commodore Plus 4 (like a Commodore 16 but better and more sexy with it's slim "for the time" black design) but my very first console was a Sega Mastersystem with Hang On and Shooting Range or what ever it was called built in. My very first game I bought for it was Space Harrier followed by Out Run !! I never thought games could be so cool. Since then Sega has been my master :prayer: Well, except for the time when I'd play my Super Famicom more than anything else that I had :smt033

i think MY first console was a sega gg or sms

in i guess 1981, a friend of my mom's let us borrow his atari 2600, and we ended up having it for like 3 years i guess.. dunno why he'd suddenly want it back right after the big market crash.. not long after that i picked one up at a yard sale for like $10, with like 30 games and all this other crap. 2600 devalued like a used car i guess, that stuff had to have cost at least $500 all told, not three years before. in 1985 or so a friend of mine gave me his colecovision (whats with people donatin their systems to me), with donkeykong, river raid, and smurf.. 1986, mom mom threw it away cuz she thought it was broke. around the same time, 85 or 86, we got an atari 5200 on closeout from Pamida (any midwesterners here?) for like $20, and i dunno if this is a known issue or not, but the RF Out got totally screwed after like 2 weeks of play, like the tuner slipped and it was between 2 channels or some shit.. but 5200 kinda sucked anyway, so no big loss.
87 - NES
88 - SMS
89 - Genesis
92 - turbografx 16 / turboxpress
94 - SNES
97 - PSX (my brother had got one on its launch date in 95, and i was content to borrow it on and off for 2 years cuz i was hella broke)
uh wait this was just about which was first right? :smt033

In order from memory, and my own consoles not my brothers or sisters.......
NES in 1989 - only got punch out and supermario bros but I loved it that christmas.
Sega MasterSystem in 1990 - for my bday
Sega Megadrive with MegaCD in 1992 - thought it was the dogs at the time
SNES in about 1994
PlayStation in 1996
Then got into retro gaming during 1996 1999 so the consoles I had were -
3DO
Jaguar
PCEngine
Then in 1999 got a Dreamcast, skipped off collage to go pick it up and play it all day. Missed an important lesson that day, but luckly flucked the exam...phew...
Got My Japanese PS2 in 2000
English PS2 in 2002
GameCube in 2002
XBOX in 2003 - but I dont play this, it resides in my cupboard holding up a stack of boxes.......
And in the future Im planning on getting a PSX, if they are released over here in the UK, not been following console release much lately so out of the loop so too speak......
But you wanna hear the sad thing, I recently purchased a GP32, and this is my main console (well handheld) of choice.....been playing Bomber 94 on the GPEngine emulator everyday I go to work....its some crazy stuff man....

My first system was the ColecoVision! Smurfs was -- without a doubt -- the greatest game ever made. :prayer:
...and then my system's RF adaptor died, and I was too young to even think about fixing it :smt022

my first computer must have been the Commodore 64 (and the best: it even had a 1541-II disk drive!), then I got a C16 (...I sadly fried the power supply somehow), got back to the C64, then got an Amiga 500 which was upgraded a while later with an 68030 turbo board (E-Matrix 530 i think), HDD (500MB), CD-ROM etc... After that, there were the various PCs from 486/50 to the Athlon TB 1,4Ghz today...
The first console i've got was an NES with Ice Climber (no idea where it is now)... Then there were an Atari 2600 (also missing), GB Pocket (beaten Zelda 4 countless times XD), Master System (broken and also missing)... and all the newer systems like the N64...

It's called Quack Shot, an yes! That's a great game. My first game console was a Megadrive with games like Sonic, Golden Axe 2, Donald Duck in Maui Mallard + many more :)

My first console was an Atari 2600 that had about 40 games with it and was left in the garage of a house my parents had moved into (what an awesome find back then! :) heheh.... (I think this was around 86)
Then...my first computer was a Radio Shack TRS-80 Model 4 (and eventually I adopted a broken Model 3 as parts/ to mess with)'88
Moved on to an NES but then got tired of it after beating Mario and some other games and oddly enough wanted my 2600 back.'89
Eventually had both 2600 & NES & TRS-80 then got lucky
and scored an Atari 800 (when the ST's were coming around)
with a LOAD of disks/games/apps and was quite pleased with that.
'91/'92
In 1993 I was real lucky...(having a sister and all) she got the SNES
and I got the Jaguar (cool xmas if I may say!) and we had endless hours of fun on both systems!
(However at that time, or any time for the matter) Only SNES games
were available for rent so a lot of our play was on the SNES until
I could get around to saving up $55 for Jaguar game from Venture or some madness.
Always had wanted the genesis but never got one of those until like mid 1995 (haha, I know!) with a Sega CD and such.
Over the time though... I've done had damn near every single console and older computers:
2600,5200,7800, 800, 800XL, 1200XL, 1040ST, Falcon030, C64, TRS80, NES, SNES, Sega CD/32x, Lynx, Game Gear, PS1, PS2, Saturn, Dreamcast, N64, Ti 499?, Colecovision, Intellivision,Amiga 4000... quite a few 8088/286/386/486/586 PC's...
and now.... out of all the things I used to own I'm now down to:
Dreamcast
iMac LCD
Custom Built PC
Atari Falcon (probably about to be sold)
Atari Jaguar/CD (probably about to be sold)
(a diassembled Saturn and a N64 in rental case)
and that's it.... haha....
It's kind of sad how I dont have any of my old goodies anymore but at the sametime... there's only so much time one person has and technology can sort of interfere with normal life operations sometimes
if you know what I mean? :smt043

My first console was an Atari 7800. ^_^ I used to play it on a little b/w TV in my room. I played a lot of Pole Position II and Xenophobe, and older games like Yar's Revenge. This was probably around '89-'90 when the NES was already out. That was pretty much my only system until my Genesis. Most of my exposure to Nintendo was at friends houses. I still own and treasure my 7800, it is a very cool thing.

Its pretty embarassing... I got a NES set (with multitap + 4 pads) for Christmas somewhere in '92 or even '93... had loads of fun with it, bought heaps of games & accessoires.
In '95 my dad got a PC (468sx2-66 that's still in use today :smt024 ) and I became a PC fanboy. That's right, I kinda hated consoles :smt011
So I stayed with the PC, got various new ones until in the winter of 2001 a friend of mine sold me his brothers' (yeah it's not fair :p) N64 with 5 pads and about 15 games for 58e... that's where the collecting started!
The next summer I got a PSone boxed with 4 games for 50e and from there on it picked up some pace. And in december of 2002 I got my lovely Saturn which is now my main collecting system today :)

'I' started with an really old pc, then I got an CD-I ... I liked it actually! At the time I had almost every nice game for it (zelda, link, dymo's quest etc) After a year I think the CD-I was sold //. then the good stuff begins!!! got an megadrive II from my dad with sonic 2 and lotus 2 ! :) will never forget that day!

My first console was a Atari 2600 (Yes, i'm feeling old right now :smt043 )
After it, i got a Master System and love it . Sega/TecToy was making a great work advertising the consoles. TV shows talked about it. It was a great time.
4 month after i got a Nes Clone called "Super Charger", that was on the same design as the Famicom. I never bought games for it, just rented. The Master System always got my attention. Although i loved to play Mario 3, Zelda, Excite Bike (one of the coolest games of all time, at least for me), and of course Mega Man. =D
Anyway, after some time i decided to sell the "Super Charger" and with some extra money i got the Mega Drive (almost on it's life end). Had fun with games like Gunstar Heroes, Vectorman, and so on.
Unfortunately, at one time i though the Master and the Mega Drive were not exciting anymore ( it was on the start of the PC gaming crazy , plus arcade going "polygonized").
I don't really miss the Mega Drive, but the Master System i miss a lot (people that talk to me, now that i say this a lot)
Anyway, when the Saturn and PlayStation were released, i got the PlayStation.I love it, and since one of my best friend got a Saturn, we were with luck, since we could play games for both systems =D
Years later i got a PlayStation2 and months after, when my dad, went to his home country, Portugal, he got me a GameBoy Advance with 2 games.
Last, i got a GameGear at ebay.
The rest of the stuff i have (games) i bought in all those years

The 2600 from A-TA-RI, it's a videogame system AS-YOU-CAN-SEE!
When I was a little little kid we had a pc, since my dad was a programmer. Somewhere in the eighties I got my first console, an Atari 2600. It came with a 32 in 1 cartridge which was pretty cool! After that I moved on to a Megadrive. :smt023

My first console was a Super Nintendo with SMW. My brother and I played that game to death! The next game I got was Mario's Missing (big mistake!!). After a while, I purchased tons of games like the entire Megaman X series (I remember when X3 came out and I got it for my birthday!), Donkey Kong Country series, etc.
When the PSX came out, my parents had me sell my SNES collection in a yard sale to save up for it. We were going to go in 50/50 for Christmas. I sold all of my games for $5 each, and the system for $20. After Christmas, they gave me a PSX and all of the money I had earned! They thought they were doing a good thing, but it took me a long, long time to get over that!
I've since re-purchased almost all of the old games I had.. except, of course, Mario's Missing.

First console I played/owned was the NES back in 1989.
Then I played the SNES back in 1991, I didn't own it but I loved Super Mario World.
I then got the Sega Genesis as a gift around 1992. It came with Truxton, Ghost and Goblins, and Altered Beast. I loved that system even more. Then the Genesis died. I later got another one as a gift around 1994. I didn't have Truxton, nor the other games because I lost those too.
Then it is as follows:
N64(1997)
PSX(2000)
PS2(2001)
Dreamcast (2001)
I plan on buying an xbox and mod the crap out of it. :D

My first computer was a Sinclair ZX Spectrum +, but my first CONSOLE (that was the question guys!!!), hmm I think it was an Atari 2600, followed by a NES.
Go Yakumo! I had a Plus/4 but it got stolen from the guy who repaired it! :( I got a Plus 3 (speccy) with the insurance money brand new! A good deal hehe. Still got most the Plus/4 games, and the other year picked up another machine (unfortunately not boxed like my original).

I've been playing videogames for a long time (born in '87, so the NES is what I mainly remember), but my parents have never let me buy a console up until last year, when my mother forgot the 'no consoles' rule and let me buy a PSOne :).
Since then I have aquired (after trading in the PSOne):
Dreamcast
Playstation 2, which I have since traded for:
Xbox
Genesis (which my ever so kind friend let me have with her 3 games :))
I'm short on money right now, but I'm planning on getting another PSOne (I have about 30 games that I can't play because I have no Playstation equipment :( ).

The very first game console my family owned was a Colecovision when I was six years old. I loved it but my dad thought it was a log and returned it within two weeks. For some reason he bought an Odyssey 2 and we kept that for a few years (at least until 1984.) Then at some point that got sold and the only oprtion I had left for video games was the Atari 8 bit computers, first 400, then 800, then a few years later a Mac, tandy 1000, etc.
My next dedicated game console was an NES, which I didn't get until 1989 ( I was already 13 by this time.) Later on I got more stuff after I got my first job, but all the expensive crap (like a 3DO and TurboExpress) I got through my Mom's GTE catalog (Now Verizon.) For those who don't know instead of cash Verizon gives bonus points to sales people, who then get to trade those in for merchandise, high end electronics, furniture, vacation packages, etc. I got my Super Nintendo this way too.
I now own 44 systems, all bought within the last five years. But I've got a space under the TV for the Odyssey 2, even though it was a piece of crap.

The first console here was a SNES, thats mainly because i only played around with my PC before that. At least i had a friend who owned a NES/SMS before the SNES came out.
