I am fielding ideas for the 2008 assemblergames.com contest.

Ideas are:

Machinima videos
Annual system mod contest

Yeah I have a stack of games that ppl sent to release.

It seems like people are in a rut right now. I guess all
the bad economic issues right now have people focused
on other matters.

Glad some people liked the idea. It could be from a game Assembler releases or a something from our own mind.

I think the collection idea would be worth it as well. Something like "Biggest Collection", "Best collection from a game series" and so on.

Why not making a category for the "Best layout for the new museum" ?

I think the collection idea would be worth it as well. Something like "Biggest Collection", "Best collection from a game series" and so on.Yes, those categories would add some order to the chaos of judging piles of crap people have amassed.

Also, how about a "Best Gaming Setup" contest where it's not necessarily about having the most expensive gear, but more about having a slick easy to use entertainment setup allowing for many consoles to play seamlessly (especially retro consoles, as those tend to be a pain w/ their proprietary wall warts and such). Bonus points for "tate" capabilities.

For the system mod contest there could be different categories as well. Some ideas are:

"Best Looking" - teh sexiness.
"Best Feature(s) - Easy" - best feature(s) and didn't require much work.
"Best Feature(s) - Med." - best feature(s) but involved a bit more work.
"Best Feature(s) - Pro" - best feature(s) but involved a lot of work.
"WTF??!!" - yeah, we don't know what you were thinking.
