Living in Japan is a pain in the back side for games collectors because of the lack of space. So today I took a few pictures of how we combat this space shortage problem :smt023

The Cupboard of Doom !! Host to 200 Saturn games, 50 odd Mega CD games as well as other goodies.

Close up of the TV section. Sharp 24" TV with a Kenwood micro system with super woofer (Very nice sound), Dreamcast, Saturn, DVD player and Video. Everything is hooked up through the stereo.

This is my PC. Nice case with soso insides. Next to it are some Dreamcast games, Yamaha Active Superwoofer (Behind the games) and me scanner which you can't see because it's hiding next to the PC.

Hmm, it all depends upon where you live. If you live in a big city like Tokyo or Osaka then a two bed room flat will cost you about 500 to 700 pound a month. My place is quite a nice size but only has one bed room plus dinning and living rooms and cost me 350 pounds a month but that's because I live in a smaller city. The same place in Tokyo would cost well more.

Yes, People have detached homes. My wife's parents home is detached.

Yeah, it's just to gain access to the pipes but it runns the whole lenth of the house. It's very dry and clean down there so it makes an ideal place to store stuff.

Student accomodation goes at ripoff prices though. In Amsterdam it can get up to 400e a month for a measly 10 sq.m, and I've seen even worse rooms (6sqm). When I finally get a room near the Uni it's gonna be a dilemma what to move and what to keep at home :smt043

Yep Cali is extra special expensive. $1 million for what would/could be called a shack. The prices mentioned don't seem that expensive to me, not cheap by a long shot but for a big city in Japan seems ok. I thought I read somewhere that Hong Kong is really expensive too.

Those Puyo Puyo cusions were only available with Puyo Puyo fever on DC, Game Cube and PS2. Sega may start to sell them again later but I don't really know.

That cupboard of doom is now looking a lot more healthy. You wouldn't belive it but there are 50 more games in that cupboard now than what there was when I originally took the picture. Being a collector in Japan is a pain in the arse at times :smt009
