The board was never hosted by Daemon/RoarVGM... it used to be hosted by EZBoard. However since the Assembler site is hosted by RoarVGM and it's part of Daemon's hosting contract that links to warez should not be allowed I would say that disussion shouldn't be allowed, unfortunately. Nothing's changed

Ok, so we are allowed to talk about Prop Arena then??
As far as i know, Belokk has the GDR. It's been ripped but is not booting on a DC. Seems to be some sort of copy protection on the GDR that needs cracking.
And tht's it. Until its cracked, no PA. Oh well, give it time....

You can talk all you want about it. ALLUSION to sale will be erased. All other material, screens, vids, etc are great. You MUST follow the rules below.
:snipe:
So:
1.) You can talk all you want about Propeller Arena, and post as many videos and screen shots as you like. :smt023
MP3s are not allowed. :smt009
2.) You cannot in any way shape or form sell PA. :smt027
The only sale discussion allowed must be in DEBATE form and must be NOTED as such! This means philosophical discussion only.
"Joe sells PA and it's great" = NONO :smt009
"Debating if it's wrong for someone to sell PA" =OK :smt023
3.) You cannot in any way direct link to a FREE distro copy of PA. This means less than three clicks to file. :smt009
You can mention: IRC channels and non warez web sites. (see below) :smt023
4.) The two click rule must be in effect. You must have to click more that two times before any link reaches any prohibited material. :smt024
This way any linked materials are the sole responsibility of the other page. No mention of the content can be made!
"Click here to get to PA" = NO :smt027
"Go to this page, they have some VERY interesting info" = YES :smt023
5.) Discussions on encryptions belong in the dev area.
"Cracking WAREZ"=NO! :smt009 :smt009 :smt009
"Decompiling a program"=Yes :smt023 :smt023

As mentioned before on my old post (when the PA problem started)
*Talking* about PA is fine.
Videos, screenshots, documenting the game is fine.
BUT
Selling, distributing, linking to (no matter if it's 1 or 300 links away - if it ends up giving one access to illegal material, it's a no-no).
Because like... let's suppose someone made a TRIPOD page that said "CLICK HERE FOR L33T INFO". This page then linked to a geocities page that said "CONTINUE CLICKING! L33T INFO IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER!" that then linked to another page with illegal content.
That would still be no good, don't you guys agree?
I know some people will talk crap about me, but trust me, I'm just trying to avoid trouble in the future.
Noone here would want my site, or ASSEMbler's site to die because of a game!
Here's a WORKAROUND though;
If discussing / trading files / etc was done ELSEWHERE with no proper control (such as IRC), then it'd be fine.
I'll even go a little further.
If ASSEMbler agrees, I'll get bots and set up #assemblergames on EFNET for you guys. You can use the channel freely for talking about obscure consoles, games, computers, prototypes, sharing files with other friends in the community, etc etc.
Opinions?

You can go from my site to google , and then download any malware you want. Having it 3 or more clicks away is the only real way to distance yourself. Face it, we're less than three clicks away from ANYTHING.
I mean, not having any links is really hard to screen.

assembler told people not to say: "Click here to get PA."
DOes this mean we can find PA somewhere? Does this mean PA is ripped by someone other than the people here? Maybe the internet is small and our only hope is the people here ripping it.
u winder if the inet mode is working i herd it uses a new method of direct connecting to the other dcs ... this only work if you hav e a bba i suppose but if this is true its wicked

If you just took some time and actually read the topic. Then you would have discovered that 'belokk' is working hard on it... (some problems with booting it)
@Keva, it would be interesting if the game could be linked (LAN).. de online functions are all there! LAN/Custom IP etc. So maybe will see in the future an homebrew server!

I don't want be annoying or sound impatient, I'm not terribly even interested in this but this is dragging on too long, it feels like a tease. Whats exactly taking so long? I'm just pointing this out, don't take offense anyone.
With a BBA ripping ANY DC game (GD-Rs are no different) is a 1-2 day job, at least for me and I'm no scener. This includes downsampling audio/video and selfbooting etc. With a "coders cable" I wouldn't expect more than a week or two because of the excruciating speeds, depending on the integrity of the ripped data. Wish I had something to rip for the group :)

Kyuusaku, you probably ripped full versions of games (bad boy :smt011 )but some GDrecordable discs have protection to stop them from being ripped. Anyway, the game has been ripped but needs PAL & NTSC-J support. That's why it's not released yet.

It's on supernova indeed, but there has been some debate if this is the real thing or just some fake release, i've been trying to download it to see if it's the real thing but the speeds on this torrent is verry low.
This could be seen as a good thing because it would mean that it will takes days before the first people have the full download so that the people who donated to teh release will have their copy's before the rest of the world.

Da1m0n
05-10-2004, 05:40 AM
I'm afraid it's real... Belokk and Lostuse discovered that someone was leaking it out on an IRC channel... they decided to immediately go ahead with the public release in order to stop some lame unauthorized copy with no proper NFO file etc. from spreading much further. That means I was given green light - no, I was practically shouted at :P - to put it up on suprnova (as I also have had a copy for a few days now, kind of a long story). In the meantime they're releasing the proper multipart rar archive via FXP and IRC and presumably newsgroups. (I released the exact same .cdi image but packed into a single .rar, plus .nfo file)
None of us really like it, but when the more or less inevitable happened, we figured: which is better? An early public release, or an unauthorized leaked copy spreading around like wildfire, with someone taking all the credits for themselves? :smt009
Greatsaintlouis
05-10-2004, 06:19 AM
Silverbolt, you are pirating my image without giving credit!! :smt043
After noticing that Da1m0n posted before I got finished, I should state that the brunt of my infinite anger that rages with the fire of a thousand red giant stars is directed towards those who saw fit to leak the unauthorized copies.
I have to say that I am just completely infuriated over some peoples' greed and lack of consideration. Granted, Service Games does not own the content of the PA GD, however, he was under no obligation to release it to the community at all, but he did, albeit under certain "terms". These terms were simple. To people that helped offset the cost monetarily, they would recieve the chance to play the game before the leechers, and would recieve professionally made cases along with it. The general public would not be denied the release of this game, they would just have to wait a few weeks after the people who actually deserved the game got theirs.
I guess I don't see what the real problem is here.
The way I see it, there are some people who are greedy and self-centered enough to be saying, "You know what, @#$% this crap, and @#$% you chumps who released this game, we think we deserve this so lets release it to everyone right now! And screw you chumps that paid for the covers too, we don't care if you should have this before us, we want it now."
So it really comes down to some people being too greedy to wait 3 more weeks, thinking they are entitled to something they did nothing to help with, people who frankly don't give a shit about people other than themselves. Thanks for killing Christmas, asshats. The excitement of recieving my paid-for package has now been halved by the knowledge that I can find it on bittorrent, IRC, or for a fee on eBay from one of you who is no-doubt selling it as "RARE PROPELLA ARENA UNRELEASED." Thanks again.

If there is any other possibility of getting unreleased games for dreamcast, I'll not donate money. I helped in this project economically to get a game for all community, but it seems that there is too much stupid people who only wants the "glory"? of putting his name in a nfo file, (and I'm sure he didn't pay nothing). Next time, I think less people will spend money to bring us new games for dreamcast...

Next time, I think less people will spend money to bring us new games for dreamcast...
This is sadly probably true, but please don't let this occurrance keep you from helping to support future releases. Who's to say that without the support of the community and the willingness of so many people to pitch in some money, Service Games might not have bought the GD and it wouldn't be nearly in our hands today? Maybe if a similarly large project like this comes up again, those of us who are really passionate about getting the game released can take a more hands-on part in the entire thing to guarantee the security of the project.
But please don't let the actions of a few greedy and self-serving individuals destroy your support for future unreleased games.

Well surely having a fancy printed copy is better then not having it at all?
Also the games up for download at alt.binaries.dreamcast newsgroup....

It's nice that we got a mention in the NFO.. that's fairly nice.
If you were any serious about collecting, you wouldnt settle for a worthless cdr with a fancy printed cover. Sorry
Why you're absolutely right... I'll just go to the used game store and get me a copy of the game. Wait a minute. There was a reason I couldn't do that, why was it....?
.
.
.
Oh yeah, because IT WASN'T RELEASED AND THE GODDAMN GDR COSTS MORE THAN A TERM'S TUITION!! Seriously man, what right do you have to tell me how serious I am or am not about collecting by whether I can afford a beta game, I'd like to know. So I guess I'm not a very hardcore collector then, right?
Truth is, I'd really much rather play the game on a professionally printed CD-R or even *gasp* a CD-R I made than shell out 6-months rent for a GD-R to sit in a shiny case on my bookshelf. That probably sounds really ridiculous, huh? I mean, who would want to PLAY an unreleased game instead of shell out a buttload of money to have something cool to look at, right?
I guess behind all the biting sarcasm is the point that I really didn't appreciate that comment, and to an extent I suppose it almost seemed that you were defending the people who leaked the game - "Well don't worry about it leaking - if you were a REAL collector..."

Hey Yakumo:
Thanks for the nice spine card :smt023 I have a comment and a question for you:
On the English one, you put "Buru Buru Pack". I just dug out the original packaging for it, and it's spelled "Puru Puru Pack". Just a head up for those that want the English version of the spine card.
And my question is, where can I find the paper to print the spine cards on? In your image, they look very glossy (almost has that plastic feel to it, just like the real spine card), they are the correct size, and even have the perforated lines where they are supposed to be folded.
Thanks :smt040

I'm not interested on collecting the game. I'm interested on playing it. We all know the game was almost finished and we had the opportunity to get it. It's not the legal option to get a working copy, but it's the only one for a lot of people. If anyone gets another unreleased game, do you think that people will help with money next time to pay the "glory" of some warezers? If they want to be on the warez scene they will have to pay their whims.

Oops, my mistake on that Buru Buru pack :Hangman: As for the printing, I used Super Fine Print paper for the spines and photo paper for the front and back covers. The super Fine Print paper is thicker than normal inkjet paper and gives a nice sharp image. It's no good for covers though because it's to thin but ideal for spine cards.

Judging from above's link (eBay Germany only!) the "game" is on sale by two (more?) individuals recently registered with eBay. One of them wrote a message that IF sale was prohibited he'd remove his auctions, bla, bla, bla...
What I wonder is where the auction's cover comes from.

The game was scheduled to release in the US in the second week of Septermber, 2001. But because of 9/11/01, it was pushed back, then quietly canceled.
I remember seeing that US cover art at www.ebgames.com and www.gamestop.com when you try to pre-order the game.

Yeah, I fianlly noticed it, but I ended up checking to see if the music is mono by recording while in stero mode to my PC, and sure enough it was. So I ended up just setting the game to mono since it gives a more balanced sound.
Yakumo
05-12-2004, 04:06 PM
If you listen to the Propller Arena music through the sound test it's in Stereo. Only ingame is mono. I have the music set at volume 4 and everything else at 10 anyway so it doesn't bother me :P
By the way, just finished PA on Normal and unlocked a secret character called Assassin :smt023

It's just a mono song outputted through both speakers though. I checked it by recordinging it in stereo and then compared each channel in Sound Forge, and sure enough they are identical.
That hidden character sounds cool. I've only beaten the game on easy. Does he have a different plane than everyone else or is it just a repainted one?

hey all sorry i haven't posted in awhile work is hell. anyway i hope not everyone is upset with me. i know service games is bent on the realease, but i am sorry, it wasen't suppose to be this way. but that leak was pretty big by the time i got home. the server was going crazy in #dreamcast-backups. i could not let the leak not give repects to the right people that work so hard on this project. so to answer some questions. the nfo i gave you yakumo was an early nfo i was working on for the pblic release, but i gave punk8ster it and he redid it to make it sound more intresting. the service games release will nto have the megalexx logo on the sega linece screen. i took that ip.bin out and used the oringial one that the my rip had. so that will be the big differnce between public and special edition, but i packed the game the same way i did the public release. also i hope everyone enjoy's their special edition PA ( i am waiting also ) and again to all that helped in the project thanks for your hard work :D

Belokk... I wonder why the limited-edition release won't have Megalexxx' name in IP.BIN? I'm not sure I understand the reasoning behind that :smt017 Just curious about it. :smt017
EDIT: Or might it have something to do with the fact that the IP.BIN also contains ECHELON as the manufacturer's name? LOL :smt040

I don't want to stalk the mailman everyday
Stalking the mailman is one of my favorite activities and is indeed a part of my everyday routine.
And just out of curiousity, could the exclusion of Megalexx's name from things be indicitive of his not deserving of being in the game credits for some reason or another? :smt017
It really seems to me that from the moment the GD left Service Games' hands, this was treated as just another warezed Dreamcast release. Last I heard it was going to belokk for ripping, and then I hear of belokk thanking some guy named megalexx for getting the game working, and then eventually there begins to be a whole slew of names associated with PA, and then even references to the "PA Team." I'm sorry, but it has seriously taken on the proportions of a warez release, and I honestly don't trust any of the names of people thanked for their help in that nfo at all. I'm not trying to point fingers too explicitly here, but the GD was shipped from Service Games to belokk, and then we hear of these 6 or 7 people that have something to do with the project, and 1 or more of them eventually leak it out. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to be able to play the game soon, but this was not the way it was supposed to happen, and I think the big part is the carelessness in which "help" was enlisted for getting the thing running, and the amount of access "help" had to the ripped info.
You can bet that people are going to be thinking long and hard about sharing any unreleased stuff they may have, and I can't really say I blame them.

Unlock Sol & Ray by beating the game three times on noraml with the same plane.
Unlock Lil' Susie by beating all the Propeller Agility Challanges.
Unlock HKT-7700 by beating all the Propeller Stunt chanllenges.
I'm writing a FAQ on the game with all the unlockables, secrets, and plane moves that I hope to finish soon.

Here are all the others that I know of. Any more I find will bein the FAQ. :smt024
You unlock the Extreme difficulty levle at the same time you unlock Sol Ray.
I also just finished the Propeller Challange courses and when you beat all of them you earn the Air Shark Blimp.
I forgot to say that in order to get any of the Stunt, Challange, and Ability unlockables you must have Shadow and Sol Ray unlocked.

Why not do the FAQ in the style of a DC manual. With all the buttons and moves and extra stuff. So ppl could d/l it, print it out and make up a proper manual??
With the read-me from the release in there as well.

found out a nice secret :)... when your in the 'mainmenu'.. press L+R ... then you'll see the gallery mode appear (then just add 'start' and off you go)
I wonder if there are more cheats/tricks... also tried the cableplay codes from F355 and VOOT... but none worked :( (it would have been neat if the game supported linkplay)

Just completed the game for the 4th time with Shadow and you get.....
Nothing. No new title screen or anything. Oh, well.
Did it with Sol & Rey, and the pic at the end of the credits has all 10 pilots on it. Cool.
Gonna do it with one of the comedy planes next, to see if the end sequence changes or anything. Will use the DC pad.
EDIT: :smt033 Just completed it with the HKT-7700 (DC pad). Quite funny end sequence, seeing the DC pad flying over the various levels. Looks like a UFO! The best part is, when you get shot down, the VMU parachutes to safety. :smt043
What I have noticed though, is that an icon for each character appears on the top of the title screen when you complete the game with that character. There is definately only space for 13 icons, so no more secret planes then. Maybe get a new title screen when finishing the game at least once with each character?

I'm still struggling to get all of the copies mailed and I'm beginning to think that the Propeller Arena GDR is a curse to all who own it. When wyte had it his car was broken into and the same happened to me last week. I am not trying to give a shit load of excuses it's just that things have been exceptionally horrible for me in the past few weeks. We're talking majorly bad. My girlfriend is very depressed and suicidal my best friend was in a car accident and one of his lungs is not functioning and work has turned into a miserable crapfest...

Ok, so there are problems with UK ppls getting their copies of PA.
Well, I have the game. If anyone who is on the IRC channel wants it, I can send it, but it's the public release.
Otherwise, ServiceGames, if you wanna send me your version of PA (just missing the Megalex logo on title screen, yes?) I can burn CDs and print Jap stylee covers all weekend and have them in the post Tuesday morning (bank holiday on Monday) for ppls in Europe/UK. Just paypal me enough cash to cover however many CDRs that are needed and postage.

Nobody is going to chase you away for having the game already, a LOT of people already have the game. A big part is the principle of the thing, not so much the "who got what and when" thing. Offering to sell copies is against board rules though, so we can't condone that.

I didn't pay him any money at all, I never had any intention to.
Board rules forbid direct linking of "questionable" material, if our good friend here (in all good faith) posted a link to the game, the whole ASSEMbler site and forums could be shut down. It's as simple as that, there is no "consistency" issue at all.

Propeller Arena: Aviation Battle Championship
-------------------------------------------------------------
Kurous (http://www.dcemulation.com/phpBB/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=13999) posted some interesting info about the newly 'released' Dreamcast game Propeller Arena over at the DCEmulation message boards (http://www.dcemulation.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=50730):
I don't know when the cancelled release date was, but I believe around Fall 2001, probably in September or October. Here's the reason Sega gave for cancelling it
http://dreamcast.ign.com/articles/098/098281p1.html
After seeing the game, it seems a bit ridiculous that it got cancelled...but go back to 2001 and the aftermath of the terrorist attack, its not too difficult to see why SEGA cancelled it...still a shame though
Propeller Arena at its heart is a WWII themed dog fighting game with Arcade style play. Picture a mix between the gameplay of Crazy Taxi and Star Fox and you'll have a slight feel for how this game plays. The Crazy Taxi influence is quite strong, from the character design to the Training modes. However there is no carting passengers around at break neck spees this time just good ol fashined machine gun fire.
There are several modes of play, Championship, Quick Battle, Training and Network.
Championship pits you against 5 other players over the course of 10 stages. Rounds last 5 minutes each or until someone scores 10 kills. You're ranked by the number of kills you attain by the end of the round. 1st place gets 10 points, 2nd 4, 3rd 2, 4th 2 and 5th 0. You have to be 1st or 2nd at least, and points carry over from previous rounds. So its possible to get last as long as you have enough points to stay on top (like mario kart). As far as I know there are 8 arenas to play, but perhaps beating the game unlocks hidden ones...
Gameplay is pretty straighforward, but a couple twists are added to make it difficult to master (more on those later).
The plane handles pretty unrealistically, but that's what you'd expect from a game like this. You can brake and speed up pretty easily and make nice coasting turns. Its actually pretty hard to keep anyone in your sites for long at the higher difficult levels. There is just one generic machine gun, and the only aspect of this that varies from player to player is the spacing of the guns on the plane. The bullets look like the hyperblaster fire from quake 2. The HUD displays your Speed (SPD), Damage you've taken (DMG), and Power (PWR) at the bottom of the screen in nice multi colored bars. SPD and DMG are self explanatory, but PWR is related to one of the twists I spoke of earlier...At the top the other players health and names are displayed.
Stunts can be performed if you have enough power, these vary from sharp turns to loops and power slides. There are quite a few and each is executed by specific key combination and then hitting the "trick" button. For example, to perform a 90 degree turn is similar to execting Ryu's fireball. These add a huge amount of depth to the game, and must be mastered in order to beat the game or own your friends in multiplayer.
Another twist is the "Tail" type mode that occasionally happens if you keep someone in you sites within 100 meters, or perform a trick that lands you right behind them within this distance. The annoucer yells "chance time" and if you hit the trick button fast enough you zoom in on the person and tail them mercilessly until they're downed. I'm not sure if the other person can escape this, probably by doing a counter trick.
Yet another twist are the flashing crates that are spread in a circular pattern at some location (which changes, as the crates dissapear and reappear in different spots). Shoot these and a power up appears. The crates are Green, Yellow, and Red and spawn a random power up from a selection of similar types, depending on the colour of crate. Green power ups are defensive, Yellow seem to change a gameplay aspect, and Red are offensive. Here's a list of power ups I've found so far:
Green
Heal (restore health)
Hyper (increase speed?)
Power (restores power bar)
Yellow
Freeze (no one can turn except you)
hard belt (not sure...not sure if that's what its called either)
Reverse (everyone's controls are reversed except yours)
Red
Missile (lauches a big missile that attacks the closest person)
Homing Missile (launches a pack of seaker misslies)
Bomb (unloads a big bomb with a huge blast radius, anyone caught in it takes damage)
Hot Potato (shoot it to someone else before time runs out)
There might be more...
The character design in this game is probably my biggest knock against it. They all have annoying voices and horrible stereotypical actions and phrases. Fortunately you don't have to deal with them that much, and the planes they fly in are modelled nicely. The characters are:
Eagle Jam (patriotic american stereotype...pretty bad)
Shameless Cats (sleazy chick, with lines like "can you handle me?", my favourite of the bunch though
Muscle Bros. (Just grunts a lot)
Pizza Fat (A fat redneck moron, who constaly babbles about pizza..and apparently lacks respect from his father...Why AM2 would think people would play this loser I have no idea)
Pengo Jets (purple haired fruit)
8-Bit Beat (Techno junky with metallic hair)
Hex Candy (Annoying tween, with a "shoot me now" type voice)
Golden Kinfe (Old guy, who keeps reminding you how old and useless he is)
The stages are gorgeous:
Stage 1: Airport
Cool looking airport with a nasa shuttle and other shuttles lauching all the time. SEANA is written all over the place in the Sega logo font...any idea what that is?
Stage 2: Red Valley
Obviously inspired by the grand canyon, pretty cool, nice lighting effects with the sun.
Stage 3: Tower City
The stage that probably got the game cancelled. It doesn't really resemble new york, but has a big tower in the middle which you crash into a lot if you're sloppy with the stunts.
Stage 4: Sky High
Open blue sky, the clouds are nicely rendered
Stage 5: Ice World
Like fliying over the North Pole, cool ice flows.
Stage 6: Volcano
Like flying over an active volcano. Fireballs fly out the top and can kill you.
Stage 7: Old Castle
More like a fort, this is a tricky level due to all the structures. Again misplaced stunts will end your flight short
Stage 8: Phantom Island
Tropical Island at night, with awesome lightning effects that arc across the sky. Not sure if they hurt you or not.

Quick Battle mode of play lets you set up a game against the computer or a couple of friends. Each player chooses a plane and then a stage and play continues like in Championship mode. For 2 players the screen is split vertically down the middle. Computer players are still present, not sure if there are always 6.
Training mode is reminiscent of Crazy Taxi and features 3 styles of play:
Stunt
The key combinations for various stunts are shown in a window and you try to complete them succesfully before time runs out. If you can link them together to form "combos" you'll greatly increase your score. There are 8 levels to complete and this is a good way to learn the different stunt combos in the game!
Challenge
Each level has a different scenario to complete. The first has you shooting down missiles before they reach the ground and blow up the air port. These are damn hard. 8 Levels in total as far as I know.
Agility
You have to fly through rings in a specific order under the time limit. Also pretty hard!
Network menu option opens up Propeller Arena's network Options. There is Network play, Ability to upload your training scores, BBA settings and you can set your Handle that other online players can see.
Last but not least is the options menu which lets you set your controls, play Background music, enable jump pack support, load/save data to VMU (it takes 10 blocks btw), and choose your difficulty (hard/normal/easy) and number of continues (3,5 or 10)
The Background music is an assortment of alternative and rock. Here's the tracks that made it to the game:
1. Wake up with a smile
Consume/Fat Wreck Chords
2. King Kong Song
Consume/Fat Wreck Chords
3. Bite the Hand that Feeds
Zero Down/Fat Wreck Chords

Not really my kinda thing, but they suit the game well. Good dogfighting music.
The sound effects are pretty good as well, the plane engines whine appropriately to how fast you're travelling, the bullets have a satisfying rattle and explosions are intense. The voices are pretty annoying, and so is the radio chatter they create whenever you get downed by the computer, or manage to down someone yourself.
Well that about does it, hope someone finds this useful. Comments and corrections appreciated. Stupid posts that will get this locked are not.

SpItoS (http://www.dcemulation.com/phpBB/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=18061) added some hints about the game:
Someone found these to unlock in championship mode:
Unlock Shadow by beating the game twice on normal with the same plane.
Unlock Sol & Ray by beating the game three times on noraml with the same plane.
Unlock Lil' Susie by beating all the Propeller Agility Challanges.
Unlock HKT-7700 by beating all the Propeller Stunt chanllenges.
You unlock the Extreme difficulty level at the same time you unlock Sol Ray.
When you beat all Propeller Challange courses you earn the Air Shark Blimp.
In order to get any of the Stunt, Challange, and Ability unlockables you must have Shadow and Sol Ray unlocked.
Try them and do it for every character.

A few weeks later Kempis Curious (http://www.dcevolution.netfirms.com/phpbb/index/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=75) put this additional info up on DCEvolution (http://www.dcevolution.netfirms.com/phpbb/index/viewtopic.php?t=110)
Thanks for putting up this FAQ, it seems to be the first one on the WWW. :)
Having played this game a lot, it's a cryin' shame it didn't get released... it's a lot of fun, and keeps you wanting to come back for more just like Crazy Taxi.
I'd like to add a few things,
The two other yellow crates are
-Stealth which makes you invisible
-"Hard-BLT" (probably hard bullet) which increases your machinegun power. It's one of the lucky ones to get.
Some things can be interacted with in the background:
Tower City: The billboards can be shot down
Old Castle: The bridges can be blown up like in the training mode
Giga Plant: door will open in the tower if you approach it
IIRC the two unlockable stages are
-Far East Ruin which has pretty Japanese and Chinese temples, pagodas, and a colossal Buddha.
-Giga Plant which is a huge hole in the ground with a tower in the middle and bridges which rotate around. Some kinda futuristic factory or something.
The different standard characters do have significant differences in speed and power recovery. I'm not sure if their bullet power is different, but it seems to me that planes with concentrated guns (like the p-38 ) can bring more bullets on the target before the target has a chance to realize it and evade. But for certain some the unlockable characters have unfair advantages... The Assassin will only rarely take a bullet, and Lil' Suzy can shoot someone down with only four or so hits.
I would advise anyone getting frustrated with the training levels to stick with them. They are hard but a lot of fun. The agility rings were especially hard for me until I was able to do the double-tap 100% of the time on the accelerator and brake.
If anyone finds any more fun things to do with the backgrounds, or can tell me what's special about the other unlockables, please post on this board. I love that sorta thing with this game and the Crazy Taxi series.

Service Games has done a runner :smt011 Nobody will get their game. I should have kept all of the donations I received and sent the games out myself. I have his home address if people want it. I'll even post it here as long as the other mods agree with it. Otherwise I'll send it to people Via PM or Email.

If indeed he cannot be reached, and every means of contacting him has been done (including phone calls, if anyone has his number) then by all means please post his personal info so we can go about the nessicary procedures in getting our money back.
ServiceGames, if you are checking in, I hope you're aware of the large amount of doubt and suspicion that is surrounding the proceedings going on here. Please let us know what's going on; if sending the discs out isn't an option anymore, then please contact those of us who have donated in order to refund our money, otherwise I'm sure the other mods will agree with myself and Yakumo in voting to release your home address and do whatever it takes to get our funds returned to us. Again, please let us know what's going on or we will have no other choice.

For those still getting no luck in a refund from Service Games then maybe you'd be better off sending him some REAL mail. An Email is easy to brush off but a real letter isn't. Here is Service Games address.
EDIT: Erm was searching google and its not fair to leave this here. Paulo
Now don't be going around to his place doing anything stupid, OK? Words are all you need. We don't need some idiot taking their fists or more likely in the US, guns out. Just write him a letter demanding for your refund.

Just as an OT note, the debate on firearms and such can now be found in the Offtopic Forum. :smt023

I don't want to sound all suspicous, but has anyone heard from wyte (the original Propeller Arena GDR owner) lately?
I hope what I'm going to say is just a wild speculation, but what if this is a scam from day 1, and ServiceGames and Wyte worked together all along to scam money from diehard Sega fans like us, the ones that donated to the cause?
P.S. Is it illegal to mail dog poop? :toimonster:
