How collectable are these systems? I recently found 1 when i was clearing out my room and a few games (all mint condition might i add). I was wondering if it is a rare item as i know when the neo geo was relesed here in the uk not many people owned 1

Nah, the systems and 90% of the games for it arn't rare.

You can buy them in bundles with half a dozen or so cart only games, through the likes of lik-sang and such.

thats ok m8 but if rather keep it :smt040 the games i own are king of fighters 99 R2, neogeo cup 98, neo turf masters and puzzle bobble mini.

Not many atm but hopefully ill get some more soon

A freind of mine apparently has a collection of "all" the games ever released.

He bought them as soon as he heard news it was being canned.

I know he needs some cash but he isn`t the most reliable person to get information from..............plus Tachikoma he is in Bristol so just the other side of the bridge.

if you happen to have a UK copy of Pocket Reversi, you're very lucky. only 2 UK copies escaped. worth quite a bit if you have one...

2?!?! Thats a very pessimistic estimate if you ask me.
Well I did see a Pocket Reversi cart at a retro gamestore in Amsterdam, bet it wasnt the UK version then (it was 50e!)

Well over a dozen are known to exist in the hands of collectors. It was on general release all over the UK before it was pulled and returned to Japan... so I'd say a few hundred copies are out there somewhere... however that is a very small release for a game.

As for the system and games... they are becoming increasingly collectable. Due to the fact that unboxed carts can be found anywhere, the clamshell UK releases of NGPC games (those in the plastic boxes) are the ones that are worth quite a bit boxed mint. The clamshell versions are the ones the collectors are after - the ones in cardboard boxes aren't worth anywhere near as much, neither are US/Jap releases.

Remember that as it's SNK it appeals to Neogeo collectors... the type of people who spend well over $1000 on Metal Slug AES which can be bought for MVS, with the a supergun, cart and motherboard for about $250. People who collect SNK collect them for the box/manuals as much as anything... so yeah, they are collectable.

I have a question, i can get the following set brand new for 80 Euro's:

NEO GEO POCKET COLOR (grey or blue)

METAL SLUG 1
PAC MAN
DARK ARMS
NEO TURF MASTERS
KING OF FIGHTERS R2
FATAL FURY

The console is boxed and all the games are carts with plastic boxes.

Is it a descent price ?

Not a hell of a lot when you add the shipping costs etc, plus i don't really like that shop, a bit to dogy for me and their payment option are so complex, why not have something like lik-sang has instead of this dodgy "we will send you an email with payment instruction" shit.
