View Full Version : PayPal taking 9 days to clear money?

Transactions that used to take 10 seconds to clear now take 7-9 days, while called "eCheques".
The whole bloody point of the internet is to make things faster, not to revert to oldschool banking practices of having money cleared on the snail-trail.
Anyone else experiencing similar issues ?
I for one can't use my VOIP service, because i ran out of credit and it's gonna take 7-9 days to register the amount. I ve also paid a few merchants as soon as I could, only to find out that the poor guys have to wait 7 to 9 days to get my money - further delaying the posting of my items. :noooo:
First Royal Mail, then PayPal, and soon everything else i rely on will start crumbling

Don't use eChecks (as they're called over here). They have to clear... as a normal check does. Fight the system. Checks are fucked up, and everyone in America still uses them like a bunch of suckers. And everyone says Japanese are the drones.

Obvious advice: Don't rely on the unreliable.

I haven't owned a checkbook since they gave me free ones when I got my bank account when I was in high school. Lots of people would rather deal with shitty credit cards than shitty checks.

I only use checks for my bills. Makes me feel like a grown up :). I like paper trails just as much as I like erasing them.

Check the expiration date on the card you have on file with paypal.
If you have got a newer card since you last entered that info into paypal
I'm willing to bet the one they have on file is expired.
Once your ATM/Check card/Credit card expires, you can still use paypal
but the process goes from direct deposit/withdrawl to echeck mode.
Same thing happened to me a few days after my birthday month and
I couldn't figure it out for the longest. I feel your pain. =)
