I bought this one at a not so bad price as you can see off eBay.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8125532382

question is I saw this same title listed on Yahoo Japan at much higher price several times. Does it rare in Japan or simply there's high demand or something? Just curious as the seller would've gotten it from Japan and sell it at this price???

I'm not sure whether it was the same seller but same title was on eBay few weeks ago at higher price but I think it ended without sale...

cheers

usually it's a well coveted title due to its very popular anime behind it in japan. but i think as by many other games, the price came down a bit. i've seen it already between $12 up to $50+

I think it runs around 2000-3000 yen these days in mint condition. True - it used to be a 4000-5000 yen game, besides the fact that it's crap.

Was it (the anime) done by Rumiko Takahashi? it looks like his style.

I have never heard of it, but it does look familiar.

Yep, Maison Ikkoku is a long running anime/manga series by Rumiko Takahashi, the same lady that does (amongst others) Ranma 1/2 and Inu Yasha

So, what is this game, one of those digital anime comic jobbies?

Good lord Rumiko Takahashi *is* a lady... well there's a turn up for the books! Loved the Manga of Fire Tripper, but never seen anything else done by hi... I mean her.

yes, it's just a text/picture click-adventure like ranma 1/2 toraware no hanayome, urusei yatsura or the famous snatcher cd-romantic.

Ah, Maizon Ikokku, my most loved anime of all time. Even saw a few of the UK based Cathedral Animation fan sub versions that GaijinPunch help translate.

The PC Engine game is a load of crap sadly :smt022 I remember a member of this board buying a pC Engine set through me which had Maizon Ikokku as one of the games.

I saw that fan sub 6 years ago. I still have parts 1 to 74 of Maizon Ikokku fan sub tapes in the loft. Episodes 1 to 47 are in PAL format while the rest are in NTSC. The Cathedral Animation fan subs were by far better than the others. It's sad I know but for some reason I fell in love with Maison Ikokku. Could it be the story about the ever failing in life of Yusaku Goidai or the charm of Kyoko Otonashi. Maybe it could be the complete sluttyness of Akemi. Who knows. What ever it was, Rumiko Takahashi did it well. Best romantic comedy ever and it isn't even real people.

HTF did you know that? Did I mention it before? Anyways, I did almost nothing w/ the translations as my Japnaese sucked then -- I timed the subtitles though, which was an extremely time-consuming hobby (took 2 years). As such, I've seen evry episode about 3-4 times.

Anyone know of good torrent sites with old-school anime? Everything I've seen is new crap. (Blech).

I think this is by far the best of Takahashi's stuff -- who can't relate to a broke-ass college student?

I know many things about you. Beware !! :smt045 Nah, you told me a while ago. Belive it or not, I sent you loads of Mega Drive box scans about 3 years ago. They never did get added to your site though :smt022

Really? What were they? That's a section I'm not known to ignore handouts for. There might've been a reason... like being busy as shit. There was a time (very briefly) when I had more stuff to post than I actually had time for -- that was when I was selling though.

I'm currently backed up on coding stuff, but it's coming along. Makes updates a lot easier, that's for sure.
