View Full Version : wtf? Ebay killed my Sony PSP auction
I had a PSP on ebay for sale with firmware 3.40 OE-A. It was online for only 1 hour and then ebay closed the auction. Then I received an email about a copyright violation.
Why did they kill only my auction? There are a lot of psp auctions with the OE firmware online.
I don't understand Ebay :banghead:

Mine was killed too, they dont allow custom firmware auctions. Some slip through.

Just mention "special functions" and it should slip right through.

LOL, when I saw this topic title on the forum main page the word auction was cut off so it read "wtf? Ebay killed my Sony PSP". I had to check it out just to see how ebay could possibly kill a psp.

Some things they kill on the drop of a hat. I've seen other items, such as the Panasonic Q Gamecube, that have the word "MODDED" in the title and in the description with full text explaining how it was modded and that it can play any region.
I think the main driving force is the company. If Sony gets angry then eBay will react. If they don't then eBay doesn't care.

Sounds like someone shopped you mate. To have been caught that quickly it seems likely someone else didn't like having competition. From time to time Sony will go through auctions and report them too.
I wrote in the description that it can play homebrewn software and emulators, but not in the title. I think Parris is right, someone reported my auction to ebay.
I just hate ebay because they killed only my auction and 40 other auctions with a modified firmware are still online:

Why does everybody let Sony push them around anyway?
It's not like sony can afford a billion lawsuits in the state they are in right now

On what grounds would you take them to court though?
