Take2 is delaying Grand Theft Auto IV for the Xbox 360 and PS3 until Q1 2008 due to technical difficulties. The company needs more time shining it up.

This holiday season is looking to be more surprising as the days come closer...

On the other hand, you can take this in a positive light. While I hate delays as much as anyone else (and I don't necessarily feel it as much considering I'm not a fan of the GTA series), at least the game WILL shine like the glow of a million suns when it is finally released.

I want that game now! lol. I was really looking forward to it but now Bungie gets my money and all my time this fall I guess (not that they wouldnt have gotten a chunk anyways :0)

I'm looking forward to Assasin's Creed and Bioshock too much to really be bothered by any GTA delay to be honest.

Jamtex and Shadowlayer, keep the bullshit out of the thread. (Though I see where you're coming from on the last post, Shadowlayer...)

People are going to need some other software to fill in the void. This hurts Sony more than it hurts Microsoft -- the 360 has more exclusive heavyhitters coming out into the holiday season. It will be an interesting time to observe.

Well, Jamtex deliberately trolled you (in retaliation for the trolling you've done before elsewhere, I assume), so I understand the anger.

I agree that you do need to get a system first before any of this matters though. The choice depends on what you like, and right now it's quite difficult considering I'm not a fan of either, but I still like certain games on both platforms.

I dont recall fighting with him before...

About the nextgen, in both cases (X360 and PS3) I'm afraid of buying yet another expensive paperweight, either becos one would burst into flames (not literally, you get my point) and the other has no games (and with this delay, even less games!)

Because no other console could brick its self. At least if you got the xbox Microsoft is being presured by everyone to actually do something about it mostly free of charge. With Sony if the console broke down your most likely not gonna get any sort of repair for free.

Tbhat sucks indeed, but the failure rate is pretty low...

On the other hand benheck says new elites (and maybe premiums too) are getting new coolers on the GPU that should fix the heat issues.

Can't say I care. I'm mainly interested in Assassin's Creed. It's funny though that the PS3 is fucking up the Xbox 360 version of GTA4.

Oh no. I won't be able to play yet another game where I can kill people and still cars, just like I did in 3, VC, SA and the numbers of rip offs. What a shame I can't go on crazy 'kill-everyone' missions once again, and be chased by cops again and again.

Oh well, I'll have to buy something original instead.

only thing worse than a rushed release is a rushed release of something youve been looking forward too.

delays are annoying but id like to think that in the end they aid the release of quality products.

Yet my original PlayStation launch machine was replaced several months out of warranty for free (in the UK). Wild!
