I'm interested in mod my console but I don't really know what chip to choose.
Someone can tell me what is the best option?
Thanks in advance,
Joe Sancho.

I think there are going to have some movement in the W!! scene very soon since the well known Xecuter scene just annouced their involvment in a brand new chip which is certainly going to set a new standard on the scene with some innovative new functions.

ASSEMblergames users buy 3 healthy consoles instead of 1 crippled with a modchip.

apart from those on low incomes who cant afford 3 consoles, and just want to play imports ;)
but my recommendation would be the wiifree pic chip, really cheap homebrew coded chip, with good features, and the ability to boot (most) original imports

If we are talking only about imports, I would recommend a region-free boot disc.

unfortunatly no such thing for using on imported wii games, although afaik you can still use a freeloader for gamecube games

It seems a wii freeloader is on the way but it's going to be as expensive as a chip, probably not as realiable and certainly much boring to have to swap discs each time you want to play a game...

But until there is a Wii hack(*), there won't be real region free chips. It works amazingly well, but it's still a console operating in a different region.
(*) I mean, a Wii hack. Not a drive hack.

yeah sure but at the moment it's quite convincing, and the update of the drive chip makes compatibility increasing way much more possible than it could be with a freeloader.
But it's sure that at the moment, there are no real software exploit available (except in GC mode) that would allow a true dezonning of Wii.
