hi
I'm working in the game industry, but my company is not focused on Japan. We usually visit E3 in LA and Games Convention in Leipzig.
But this year me and my friend want to visit Tokyo Game Show. We would like to fly from Berlin (Germany) to Tokyo, spend there one week to see the city and of course TGS. We have to pay for this trip from our money, so we're looking for the cheapest hotel/room.
Do you know which airlines have the cheapest flight to Tokyo NARITA?
Maybe somebody from Japan can lend us one room with space for 2 people? We can bring our own sleeping bags. Whole days we will spend at TGS (with business ticket) and in the city.

If all you are going to do is sleep then perhaps a capsule hotel and a locker to stash your belongings in would work.
As long as neither of you are to large or claustrophobic.

Yeah, for 3,000 yen - it's the cheapest you'll find.

If you want the bare balls cheapest then internet cafe's are the cheapest places to sleep. You'll have to bath in some type of public bath though. The TGS is in Chiba, and I'm fairly certain you could get a decent room probably 50 - 70 euros a night (apiece). Weird thing in Japan: They will charge you more to have two people stay in the same room.
In my experience, Tokyo is a terrible place to go if you want a cheap vacation. It is far too easy to drop thousands of dollars.
As for airlines: check British Airways and Alitalia. Both should be below 700 Euro.
If you would have stayed longer I had recommended a guest house like this (http://www.jafnet.co.jp/plaza/guesthouse/guest05/matsudoe.htm) one (that's where I actually stayed once). It's both cheaper than a hotel and relatively close to both Narita and Makuhari. Unfortunately they changed the rules and now the minimum length of stay is 1 month. Still, try looking for "guest house" on the web. If you're feeling lucky you could also try and mail the manager of the guest house in Matsudo. Maybe you can arrange something.

ryoukans would be the best way for you to go. costs about €30 (5000yen) per night max.

With sex on the brain is any one love hotel better than another? I'm sure GaijinPunch will bust in and enlighten me as always, but I've just never thought of asking something like this. Generally I would think you'd pick up a girl and head off to the nearest spot, not drag her around looking for a specific location that you heard might be nice.
By all means though, if you are lucky enough to try out a few places let us know your findings.

I stayed in a Hotel called Kinuya in Ueno which is about 10 mins walk from Akihabara the hotel worked out roughly £32 a nite. I also got a cheap flight with Air France for £370.

http://www.cozyhouse.net - stayed here twice (both the Kami-nakazato and Ichikawa locations), good value for money. It's more like an apartment than a hostel, if you're lucky you get your own kitchen for instance (depends on the amount of people staying).
Cheap airlines? Alitalia is rather cheap, Aeroflot (if you dare), and I believe Qatar Airways as well.
I'm flying out this weekend with Lufthansa (http://www.lufthansa.com) France - Germany - Japan and the same on the way back.
I used http://www.kayak.com to find cheap flights, good luck.
Oh and Aeroflot fucked me about something stupid, cancelling my flight *3 times* in 24hours for some random (still) unknown reason.

Oh he's not saying they won't be Japanese and good looking. He's just saying that they'll be tired old whores so loose it looks like they've got junk between their legs.
There are a lot of night club hopping Japanese that want nothing more than to score with any ole' gaijin.

The trick is to avoid Roppongi like a bad smell, I've never been anywhere near there, sans passing it on the Metro and visit other places. ;)

good decision. unfortunatelly i've been there recently after almost 8 years of absence. what a cruel place it became now. and every 2 meters a kebab-stand. couldn't believe my eyes. not that it was that much better back then, but now.
waste of time for every minute you stay on that ground (exept of some very few places).

I went a few weeks ago. It's good if you're really loaded when you get there. The scum doesn't seem nearly as bad.

And yeah, I wish I could jump in here and englighten Service Games with my stories of running around town banging ho after ho, but I met my wife somewhat early on in my Japanese tenure. I was far more interested in seeing how completely fucked I could get and still make it home rather than get drunk and score. Had I the chance to do it over again.... I'd probably do it the same. I had a blast.
Long story short... I've been to one love hotel, w/ my wife (before getting married) when one of my friends from the Uk was crashing at my place.
