I have a few MD protos I got in, and they have nothing across the
eprom windows. I shut the carts tight again, but am wondering what
kind of material to use to protect the windows. I assume normal
stickers would be useless as they are transparent to light.

Its *usualy* a special black tape (the one used to protect the UV-flashable pcb's).
I have no idea if there is a "label" for those kind of tapes ... because if you buy cheap black tape, it may not be good ^^

Anyway, the exposure to sun light need to be quite long before they will reset... That's why many protos just have a simple white sticker/paper :)

I'm interested to know exactly the name/brand of those tapes, if any :)

You can use absolutely anything, generally it's people use a paper sticker or electrical tape.

Most ultraviolet light is stopped by any material, which is why people get tan lines. Electrical tape would probably work just fine for a very long time, especially if it's already inside a cart.

Yea, I usually use electrical tape when I get uncovered EPROM carts. Sometiems it's too late...

I wanted to take some flash pictures.

Flash won't harm anything. EPROM erasers must apply a specific wavelength for over 5 minutes to erase.

This is not enirely true. A camera flash can affect EPROMS. All it takes it erasing one bit to screw things up.

When a friend was testing Frog Feast on a Jaguar, the game would crash when a picture was taken of the screen.
