Hi,

I found a PlayStation 2 SDK auction on e-bay, but I don't know what is that? Is it usable?

No, as it's an older version I decided to not bid on it once other people started to raise the price of it. The seller also only accepts PayPal, which I refuse to use on grounds of it being completely shit.

So :-( I will just have to wait until something else pops up!

...which is a shame because as both a buyer and a seller I use primarilly PayPal because it's fast and works well with eBay. I also spite anyone who pays or wants me to pay by cheque because it slows everything down to a crawl. One smegger even gave me neutral feedback because it took 5 days to clear his cheque. Grrrr....

I also never pay by cheque. There are alternatives to PayPal which generally work very well. Considering I have been with eBay now for several years I have never not paid anyone and I have received the vast majority of items I have paid for.

PayPal is prefectly okay whilst it works and nothing goes wrong with the auction. You wait until you find yourself trying to 'discuss' issues with PayPal (even when they remove YOUR money for no reason) and I suspect your love of that payment form will either disappear or at least be dampened.

Any way, this is OT. There are plenty of other threads & indeed sites which discuss the short comings of PayPal.

I neither bid on or hassled the seller to accept another format. I just asked whether he would and he said no, so I moved along... what's so bad about that? If you are a seller then perhaps it is worth considering each buyer on their merit (eBay feedback) rather than flat refusing other payment methods.

For instance, I am not about to suggest bending backwards for something with poor feedback or a poor history, but if you are able to initiate some form of dialogue with the potential buyer, view their feedback, agree a payment method then where is the harm in that?

Anyway, that's neither here nor there. The guy ain't agreed - I shall look elsewhere. ;-)

Dude I can understand your pay pal frustration but for me as a buyer I tend to like the conveinence. The truth is we will see on how high this goes and go from there.

knowing me lately, it will probly get to the end and i will forget about it till it is over with.

Good luck with it. I am not really needing the software. It started really cheap and it caught my eye. The moment others spotted it and raised the price, it became less of an interest as it is an older version (as pointed out).

I never leave money in my Paypal account. I remove it as soon as it arrives. However, I have never had a problem with Paypal's service.

Probably a very wise decision and perhaps also one reason you've not had any issues. I struggled for almost a year to get £90.00 back from PayPal when they made a mistake. A lesson learnt and not forgotten. Customer service & complaints are not high on their agenda. :noooo:

This is becoming a witch hunt against me for criticising PayPal lol

For all those who use and enjoy PayPal - fair enough, I am speaking about my own personal feelings on the service.

The thread was about the software, which for various reasons I am not bidding on. So, good luck to any bidders! ;-)
