If they are saying that the hard drives are non removeable. I wonder if they are using the power connection just like on the dev kits?

The "non-removeable", as noted in the article, just seems to be a mis-translation.

The more interesting point is: Was there ever any "proof" that the black ones aren't just devkits?

HDMI versions were available since a year or so as prototypes, but never sold, probably for political reasons. And these boards don't have 65nm CPUs.

But the 65nm CPU is coming for sure, to save money.

And 120GB, or whatever, would be no technical problem at all, just another political decision.

So they question is: Have these four items (black case, HDMI, 120GB, 65nm CPU) anything in common? Microsoft could silently swap (and i strongly believe they will!) the CPUs when they become available, and i also believe they will at some point sell larger HDDs (and maybe upgrade the premium sets). HDMI could be an option, and co-exist with the non-HDMI versions.

So, why should this all come at once in the form of "Zephyr", and not just as different upgrades?

Hmm,maybe the hdd will be internal, and the only way to remove it would be to void your warranty.

Er, no.

pikkon could be right. Doesn't the larger drives need more power?

A swappable larger drive. That would be nice

Only 3.5 hdd's need more power, any 2.5 hdd would work just fine.

I wonder if they ll sale the new HDD seperately for us old-timers. Also, i m very concerned if they do, how the hell will I be able to move all my saved files from one HDD to another? Is it even possible with a memory card? (assuming we re only talking game data here)

Pikkon

Yes with the memory card you can transfer your game saves, also since MS has the 512 memory card it should be a breeze.

I pitty people who will have no way to transfer the movies they downloaded and payed for.

Why would you do that?

1) Movies are currently rented, so no reason to save the file.
2) Anything you actually *buy* from Live is keyed to your account as well as the serial number of the console it was purchased on. Unlike iTunes, you are free to redownload anything you have purchased at any time.

So no need for pity.

Judging by that rather poor image, the top of those 360 units are black and not the normal grey finish. So those previous images that DP and I were querying might not have been genuine after all.

It is a damned fine looking unit and bound to sell for a number of reasons, one of them being the colour.

I find it odd that they chose the mat-grey colour instead of the metallic one on the wireless black controller.
