Hey Guys

I just booked my ticket home but the domestic flight from Fukuoka lands at Handea and my international flight to the US takes off from Narita. I've never done this transfer before but I've heard some horror stories.

Any tips? Bus? Train? I have about 3.5 hours from when my plane lands at Haneda to when I take off from Narita.

Ugggh.... shoot your travel agent. You're not even on Honshu, are you? Why wouldn't you go through Kansai as opposed to Narita? If you want to go direct, you should get a bus. Via train, the only route would be the monorail. It'll drop you back off on the Yamanote line (Hamamatsucho station), from there you'd go a few stations to Tokyo station, and catch the Narita Express.

Narita Express should be leaving from Tokyo station every 30 minutes, but you might not be guaranteed a seat. I rarely bought tickets in advance though. Even if you don't get one, it's only an hour train ride.

3.5 hours should be enough time, but it's definitely out of the way, and they get all huffy if you're not 2 hours early for international flights (I never am...ever). I hate busses though, and used to smoke, so always went w/ the train. I'm a train bitch, what can I say.

Well it's a free ticket with my American Airlines miles. I have to leave on that day because it's the latest ticket they have available before Christmas. The only direct flight choice is one that leaves Fukuoka at 7 AM. I'd prefer to put up with the bus than have to catch a 7 AM flight and then spend 8 hours in Narita.
