check down the back streets behind club Sega not so far from Trader 2. You'll soon find one on a corner that looks closed due to all the blinds being down. It will be open though. By the way, no photos allowed in there.

Why do you think that there are so many places in Akihabara that don't allow photography?

You'll find one on this thread:
http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6332&highlight=akihabara

It's call G-Front and is on 3rd and 5th? floors....one floor is the fixing place and one is the shop.

You'll find another shop on the backstreet that runs parallel to the main road thru Akihabara (one backstreet back from the main street). This one is on a corner and doesn't really look like a shop , it's on the ground floor(road level). From memory it's on the backstreet where number 14 is on the map on that page..but that's a guess from memory.

I need to update it, but it's not bad. G-Front, Mak, and Try are what you're looking for. G-Front is expensive.

I love the way this sounds so shady.
Is there a secret knock and do they actually accept cash or do they only deal in black market military goods?

the way the shop looks you'd expect it to be black market

eh? since when? i went to the trader 2 just about one month ago. it just moved to an other location less than 100m away from the old place, behind the sega club under the railway bridge. didn't you find it there? will check it out on coming saturday.

here my poor map of akibas retro shops (trader II, medialand, potato, retro friends, liberty)

Traider 2 has been behind Club Sega for over a year. I went there last year when I visited the Tokyo Game show. Take another look mate, I'm sure you'll find it.

Way, way more than a year. 3...4... maybe 5 even.

I think we're all misunderstanding each other. I can only speak up to February, but before that, it was behind Club Sega for years (I was mentioning to Yakumo). I think he's referring to before there was Trader 2 (or 3 for that matter).

The Trader 2 I know is a narrow shop behind Club Sega. There were many other traders when I lived in Tokyo 9 years ago but now the only good one I know of for gaming is Trader 2 behind Club Sega :)

Pretty sure it was just Trader for a long time. Trader 2 opened behind Club Sega about 5 years ago (roughly), then Trader 3 a couple of years ago (which is CDs and DVDs only, no games).

yes. about 5 years the trader II was settled at a place behind the sega club. now he's still behind the sega club, but slightly moved (check the new map):

old trader II; new trader II

I believe you are talking about try PCB's or mak japan.
I was in there as well as inside G-front and they all allowed me to take pictures as long as the personal wasn't in them (noone else was inside the stores at the time...). I of course asked since I know about the "no fucking pictures anywhere" policy ;)

Can't find my pictures from TRY! online though but here are the others.
