Has anyone checked their site recently? they have a nice (tiny) little scrolling flash with games that are going to run on it!

Here's a list:

Lemonade Tycoon
Learn to read with: *someone*
Chessmate
The cat in the hat
Dr Seuss' ABC
I Spy
I Spy Junior

Thats from their only confirmed publisher, clicking on their link for publishers brings the following message:

We are currently updating our extensive list of content/publishers at this time. It is by no means a complete compilation of games available on the Phantom.

Please check back to this site at a later date for the latest exciting exclusive and popular game titles that are pending developer/publisher approval. Please contact us if you have any questions.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Funny how most of the features on the site dont work...

Oh well, only 2 weeks until the launch! :smt043

They openly announce that Phantom's gonna have games like Lemonade Tycoon? That's not a good sign
BTW, there's a Lemonade Tycoon for PC, it's pure crap.

I think they'd be better off launching titles like Tamagotchi than Lemonade Tycoon.

ugh the phantom.....

I've seen the first unveiling of the thing. At first it looked cool and all that. However, hardocp.com did a report on the CEO's background with other companies he created and went under. The whole company smells fishy and I wouldn't have high hopes for the thing if I were you. They are really in it for the money and will most likely run the thing into the ground and bail out with millions before its too late.

They will have a booth up in the upcoming E3 in LA, California. I doubt they'll have actual hardware to show off to the media then. If not then they will truly fail to come out.

The funny thing is that we all dog it now...it comes out and fails....not many are released.....4 years down the road we're all posting HERE topics on how to find this obscure system that we all want because it so "RARE" and we can't find it anywhere! :smt017

confusing but we've seen it before....the more it fails...the more we'll want it because not many will be released...kinda funny.

If you want the system then why not just build one yourself. It will be made out of PC components. Well, at least I know the developers who already have test units that have them. Here's a pic of what they look like. Once they go under, I'll start to ask around for one. That is if they are worth my time.

It's just a full size PC tower turned on its side..... I thought it would atleast look cool. Anyone hoping to ship this thing overseas has just been kicked in the junk.

madhatter, that's a REALLY gianormous signature you have there, do you think you could possibly shrink it to more lilliputian levels?

I'm sortof interested to see what is going to be in the Phantom booth at E3. I'm not too enthusiastic on the prospect of the console being there tho...

in fact I wonder what stores will want to take the risk of putting this thing on their shelves... coming from an unknown company with a CEO who has a very bad rep... guess we'll only be able to order online and then pay $80 in shipping :axe:

SilverBolt

I wonder how long it will takje for this to go down the drain, but het we'd better order one whey will be rare items worth a shitload of cash in afew years :smt040

I can see it now, all those "Hardcore Gamers" spending $2000 on the day of release, going for the 1GB Dual Channel DDR RAM and Athlon XP 3000 options, pluging it in and playing I Spy Junior with its PCM audio and 16 colour tile graphics. :smt043

AntiPasta

with its PCM audio

lol, what's wrong with PCM audio? That's what's still being used I think (except on the PS1 with its crappy forced ADPCM :axe: )

I didn't expect that the syste was SO HUGE!. and Greatsaintlouis we can both check the system out at the E3 and laugh about it hehe.... how can you take an system serious when one of the launchgames is: Karate babes!!! :smt019

Just a reminder. That's the 3rd design concept of the system. It's a working model and chances are its the dev box thats been available to eager developers. The thing with the company though. I'm pretty sure you guys will end up hating it more than 3do, (that one's for you assembler ;)) because of the shinanigans they've been pulling.

They said the retail will be smaller (at least they will try to make it small). I would like to get my hands on the dev box since I will probably be able to put my PC components inside the thing :smt040

Hell, with it being that size, I could probably squeeze my box AND one of the dismantled PowerMacs I have in my room into it.

And yeah, my prognosis for the Phantom is a slow death into obscurity - it's been a little over a year now, and they have done nothing but lead the industry around by the short and curlies with lots of promises and no show.

Oh, and they did sue HardOCP for daring to wonder if there was a console at all, despite, you know, the whole bit about having no console to show...

I read somewhere that it will also have a Geforce Fx 5700. I think the fact that it does not take discs will completly hinder all success they could hope to have.

Yeh. Imagine downloading a 4gigabyte RPG thru a 300kb/sec broadband connection. The download speed is what most americans have with a cable broadband connection.

Ever since I saw the unveiling of the Phantom here in Orlando, FL. I've been following the whole damn thing about hardocp, infinium, and their stocks.

At first I felt the company was trying to make a good thing for the market, but after this stuff started to happen, things started to smell fishy.
