I noticed the two DDh looked different from each other.. one says dolphin and the other gamecube.. is there any other differences, like h/w or software compatibility?

Yeah, I think the ddhs look particularly good sitting next to each other as well. I hope to some day have a third, in particular the earlier version that used the phone cord-like controllers.

babu, since I haven't been able to get them fully operational (you can check out my thread in the Dophin Development area for more info), I don't know for certain if there is a difference in the software, but I don't think there is as most of the software is run off of the host computer. As far as hardware, yes there are definite differences. You can tell just by looking at the back panels. I'll take some more photos of them to show the differences when I have time. They are both running on D5s though. The one that says dolphin obviously came from a work enviroment sometime ago, so I am hoping that there is something on the harddrive; not having been able to properly access it though, I am still uncertain. I'm honestly not even certain which company it came from, but it is obvious that it has been used for something...Anyway, the other literaly came new in box. It doesn't even have a serial number (which I found a little odd). At some point, I'm going to get a computer to run Windows 2000 on, and hopefully then I can get the whole setup working (as the problem seems to be that the ddhs are not XP friendly).

i finally got around to taking some photos showcasing the differences between the two ddhs. They are fairly similar, but there are a number of significant differances. Amoung them being the midi in on the Dolphin, and the power switch on the Gamecube.
The pictures pretty much speak for themselves. Sorry, they are a little blurry, I can't seem to find my lion batteries.

that saturn controller looks the bollocks!, is that available anywhere?

I've seen a genesis version of it before on ebay, but it had writing (the name of the controller) on the top and didn't have the blockbuster logo on the back I believe. I can't remember for certain if I've ever seen the saturn version like the genesis version (i.e. without blockbuster, with writing), but I think I have. This particular one I found at goodwill and was told it had been a part of a set of some kind that had disappeared. I believe they charged me $1. I quite like it.

I don't know much about them beyond what everyone esle knows, but I did manage to find one at a very nice price on e-bay. From what I can tell, it indeed is a purple gamecube with a custom jewel. Came with the controller, hook-ups and two games, but no box; so, I don't know if the box was any different.
